Then we guess that is 85% of Americans since. Most kids are in public school not private or homeschool. And since that’s the majority guess who wins again. |
But since you can do the DE classes free of charge then opportunity does exist. Are there enough kids to field a class beyond Calculus? If so, the school community should bring this up with the school leadership and note they need a class. If there is not enough, the taking a DE class at the college or a online class from another school is the best use of MCPS resources. |
No, but it was a massive save for Crouse and her pension. She is now making around $200K per year working in HR in central office. Nice work if you can get it, even when you don't follow the law and call the police immediately upon learning, as principal, that your students have been raped. She should have been let go. |
She negotiated a deal with Jack Smith. That was now three superintendents ago. |
This is bullsht and you know it unless you think learning S&E bs provides them with a better education. I also went through the system and I certainly do NOT agree with this. |
+1 There are many times more tradecraft options available in MCPS than in my well-regarded suburban HS. You can even do half day of traditional HS and half day of community college programs that let you finish HS with an AA in topics like law enforcement or child development. |
| Why even have a rule book if no one uses it. The kids dont have rules and the adults don have rules. Only sleazy backroom money siphoning "deals" to fail upward in order to sit your fat sedintary a$# behind a desk for life. Many other teache4s who took the fall for this chaos probablt didnt even know about the unwritten rules of sleazy backroom deals to attain success. Its not in the rule book which many naive good law abiding teachers follow. |
| In the case of Whitman, the education isn’t very good and there is so much grade inflation that they often get into colleges they can’t handle academically. |

Happens a lot of places not just whitman. |
How do we get our child there who is not of driving age there? And, why should we when other schools offer it and ours doesn't. And, how would that work with other classes? Can you take off in the middle of the day to drive your kid 30-45 minute each way no traffic plus wait for the class? |
I grew up attending a W school, my parents also acted as if the schools were raising me. I've met other public school kids from different systems and states and it doesn't replace parenting. |
Ride On bus is free for students. Take the course online. Some HS sites offer classes. Speak with your schools DE coordinator for the best options. |
Ride on bus would take 2 hours each way and not anywhere close to us. It is a minimum of 75 minutes assuming there is no wait for the bus/metro - two buses and a metro ride. So, that's an all day thing when you include transportation and a class. And, the online don't fit in a schedule if you have after school activities. There are no good options. MCPS should not put kids on advanced tracks if they cannot offer advanced classes later on. And, if online is so bad, why is online ok at MC but not the MVA. |
Baffling. . . |
