Now that McLean Union announced their split with SYC and rumors swirling that SYC is pursuing GA, how will this affect FCV (Loudoun, not Springfield) from keeping their GA team together? If BP and CC are gone, even if they brought in new coaches who is going to take a gamble on that, on top of no fields available?

SYC to GA is no longer a rumor. It was announced today by SYC and Girls Academy on their respective IG accounts

I wonder what CC is going to develop over at VRSC? The scraps of FCV that don’t move to syc or ecnl clubs? It doesn’t appear VRSC has a chance with GA for now.

Nobody is moving to SYC


They'll pull from the eastern half of the county and from Alexandria. They just because the only club for girls in a top league with a reasonable drive to practices

They'll charge a premium for mediocre NCLS teams and hope that enough parents don't know any better. The same thing they're doing now

1. SYC to GA was officially announced today
2. What other alternatives are there for FCV GA players? Try out for one of the areas ECNL clubs? Drive to Springfield to tryout for SYC GA? That’s really it and all of those would more or less be a gamble, too.

At the younger years (pre-ECNL/GA), SYC girls are at the same level as Loudoun, McLean, and Bethesda and above everyone else in the area (including FCV). They also compete very well with those same clubs on the boys side. But they lose all their players to ECNL clubs at U13. I wouldn’t dismiss them so lightly.
