Longterm dc area residents, have you noticed decline ?

Sometimes I think DC is a eugenics cult with a bunch of good PR and deflecting narratives. While most other large cities have declining homicide rates, even BALTIMORE, DC is gunning it (pun intended) in the WRONG direction. If you don't get distracted by the words, the outcomes are quite stark.

I’m a conservative and I’m doing neither and generally supported the compromise of RvW. As far as LGBTQ rights, it is a mixed bag. Trans athletes are a basic assault on biological truth. Don’t tell me I’m seeing blue when it’s obvious what I’m looking at is red.

The voices of activists are very loud, and perhaps well funded. If you agree, attend their teach in. If not, reach out to your CM, Mendelson and the 3 at large members and offer a different perspective.

My councilmember is Nadeau. She does.not.care what I think. There's no point in reaching out to her. Is there any point to reaching out to any other members of the current council... or do we just need ranked choice voting to get sensible moderates into office.

I would still send an email to her, Mendelson and 3 at large members. Otherwise the only voice they hear is from activists. The way that the Council is structured, wholesale change is not possible. Plus, moderates would have to run and be electable and not have the vote split so many ways that the incumbent gets in again. We can't wait that long. At least document your dissent.

The Emergency Bill (the one that JLG opposed and Frumin waffled about) does not seem to have changed the dynamics, homicides and carjackings seem to be accelerating, if anything.

The main problems at this time: Council, USAO and DC Superior Court judges. Pinto's bill passing as written is a step in the right direction. Even if your CM is JLG, Nadeau, Allen or Frumin, still, send an email and urge your friends and neighbors to do so.

DC is in absolute chaos! Over 200 homicides and counting, and what’s the government doing about it? Seems like it's just the cronies and the criminals running the show now!

We seriously need to get the feds in here to disband this so-called government—it's practically a club of cronies letting their buddies run wild. It’s like the same criminals are voting themselves into DC government. This isn’t democracy; it’s a disaster!

Let’s get real, our capital deserves better! It’s time for a total reset, maybe get the National Guard in, and let’s build a government that’s actually for the people! Before we know it, the whole city will turn into a lawless zone if we don’t act now!
