Obviously not but what I said about socioeconomic diversity still stands. Neither school has any. It’s hard to believe that a mile or two down the road are schools where my offers of donated school supplies would be welcomed rather than scoffed at, for example. It’s hard to teach kids empathy for people who don’t have the privileges they have when they are not exposed to them and many of their peers are much wealthier than they are. I worry that instead of “what can we do to help underserved populations”, one day my children will come home thinking they ARE the underserved population because OMG I’m not buying them lulu and athleta. Thankfully I think we’ve done a good job of teaching them about the diversity they’re not exposed to so far.

This isn’t about other schools. Someone said they chose Crossfield AAP over Navy AAP. That’s fine if they want to stay with all the white kids. We love the diversity of Navy.
