Kate didn't set him up. Collin is speaking out. Telling his side. Did he think that Kate wasn't going to tell her side and let his accusations stand? Of course she was going to respond. Collin doesn't seem very smart. Also, why isn't he going to college?

His mom stole his college money so he’s going the Uncle Sam route. His 2 older sisters had to take loans to go to college I guess he don’t want to do that.

So, TV ruined his life so he's going back to TV to tell his story first chance he gets at 18? For money. Sounds like he should better be able to understand his mom's greedy motivations while he does the same thing. Just because he can do this, doesn't mean he should. It's continuing a bad cycle. Also I've read the kids all do have trusts. They probably just don't have access to all the money the minute they turn 18 but will age into it.

He is 19! The twins are 23. Any money that was in a trust Kate used long before they turned 18.

Collin started speaking out when he was 18. He's 19 now and continues to do so. That is his right, but then to get mad that his other siblings and mother might want to defend themselves or respond seems a little shortsighted and goes to show how unwell Collin is and how much more therapy he needs. Collin should just get on with his life.

I don't think there's nothing left in the trust funds. When Collin crashed his car it looked like a brand new car. Where did he get the money for that?

Yes Collin is the first ever 19yo who thinks he knows it all. A sure sign of mental illness. His attitude actually reminds me a lot of his father, which could be why Kate couldn’t stand him from the start.

And it may be surprising but kids who live in far suburbs/rural areas need cars to get to their jobs. The car he totaled looked flashy but wasn’t a luxury vehicle.

19 yr olds with part time after school jobs can't afford those cars. I thought Jon was broke? Where did he get the money.

I don't know about Collin, but my 17yo (middle class) nephew lives not far from them and has a car to get to his job (and school). Job is part-time (almost full-time during the summer). As someone else said, it's not that unusual. I grew up there and had a car at that age to get to my part-time job (but it was a small hatchback, nothing flashy).

That car starts at around $30K. But ok. High schoolers are out there buying brand new cars with part time jobs. It was a brand new looking Camaro.

What did he have? Looks like it was a pretty new Camaro to me. I never heard that it was Jon's car he crashed.

It’s hard to see in your “evidence” of the totaled car but this is a pic of the car before the wreck. The front end looks more like a 2013 Camaro than any more recent models.

Yeah. It’s a piece of cake to “ get on with your life” when your mother institutionalized you and made sure you were isolated from any support and rejected by your siblings and scapegoated. There is something wrong with you that you are determined to drag this young abused person.

Young abused person should just be quiet if he can't handle the blow back. Does he know nothing about his mom?

There is something seriously wrong with you. Tell us about yourself.

TLC really exploited this family. It made them millions and left them in shambles. I can't believe the poor kids forced to work for hours being "on camera" for years and not having substantial pay out.

I completely agree those kids should have had a substantial payout. I really hope they still have access to some of that money.

As for TLC exploiting this family, yeah but. Kate and Jon would have split no matter what. Or be trapped in a marriage where they hated each other. Collin would still have had his issues and Kate would still be Kate in her treatment of him.

I just hope the money paid for their private school and they got a good education. I hope they enjoyed their trips. I hope they had a nice college fund. I hope they have something. Because their family was going to be dysfunctional and messed up anyway, might vs as well get something from it.

The kids have said on TikTok that they have no parental help for college and have loans. That is criminal to me.

Watch the Duggar documentary on Amazon. Those kids got nothing, even the ones that were one the show as adults.

I know there are no (or very few) labor law protections for child reality stars, but it seems odd that TLC wasn’t required to pay the adults.

Do you think he’s making good decisions speaking out? Is this what you would advise him to do? What if it jeopardizes his future?

Jim Bob acted as a subcontractor, taking on the responsibility to pay the participants. Not saying it was right, but that’s how he got away with it.

Ahhh, that’s why one of the couples was going to sue him. Didn’t realize - thanks for adding the background.

People who’ve been victimized seek validation. He is too young to realize he will never get it from his horrible broken mother and siblings who were raised with her poison.

Again, tell us about yourself and why you hate this young person so much.

Go stalk someone else, weirdo. Just pointing out here that in this incredibly dysfunctional family they are all a mess. Including Collin. We have no idea what’s really going on.

remember how she couldn't live a normal life - she was SO famous? here she is stomping around crushing roaches on DWTS.

She had so many opportunities and ways to make $$. While Jon was working and living a normal life. That's why they broke up. He wanted to quit filming the kids. He saw the damage it was doing. She didn't. She chose fame over family.

I don’t know, Jon’s Ed Hardy era was pretty cringey. He may have fought against the show at the very beginning but he definitely took advantage of the money that came from it after a while.

But WOW I forgot how bad she was on DWTS!
