Oh well.

What does “tougher on crime” mean?

+1

Only one party supported more funding to local police forces and it wasn't the GOP. Only one party wants to get some of the most lethal weaponry off our streets, and it isn't the GOP.

You'll only convince many of us when we don't have liberals in DA and other court positions who think it's fine to have low bail, cashless bail, and repeat criminals walking the streets to prey on innocent victims who are just trying to go about the business of living and get mugged, carjacked, raped, and murdered by those with a violent criminal history.

You forgot about kids peeing in litter boxes, drag queen story time and CRT.

Remember that time Lee Zeldin was violently attacked with a key chain and the Republican DA let the guy walk the same day? Good times, good times.

PP here. You're making light of what I wrote. Clearly, neither you nor a family member has been the victim of a violent assault.

I mean, yes. But, Dems have royally sucked at outreach and messaging. And getting their hands dirty and dispensing with political norms, just like R's have for decades. They better get their sh-- together. AND FAST.

PP here. You brought up those "concerns," not me. I don't even remotely worry about your list. I do care about he safety of innocent people who are violently assaulted, often unexpectedly.

I heard McConnell has a meeting with Garland this morning to beg him to please charge Trump

Now it's convenient?! Seriously WTH. He is so evil.

But Trump told MAGA not to vote in the 2020 runoffs because "rigged" election, or something. Both Democrats won. Then this year, he props up a rocks for brains ex-football player with no experience...and he gets beat! And because of that, Democrats are still going to control the Senate.

Trump is poison.

Warnock hasn't won yet, so let's not count our chickens.

But the larger point is that I can't believe that Republicans have not dumped Trump yet. It has been obvious for a very long time that he is an anchor around their necks, but they just won't get rid of him. The smart ones like McConnell realize it, and they even had the perfect opportunity to turn on him after Jan. 6, but they inexplicably didn't do it.

You can bet a LOT of them are rueing the day they didn't push for the 25th amendment, or impeachment, or any of the multiple avenues they had at their disposal.

It will be very interesting to see how those reps try to differentiate themselves from the other 200 R reps who will be bringing the crazy.

If Republicans win the House is will be by a 1-3 vote margin and they may not even be able to elect a Speaker. No way they all support McCarthy after this. Scalise is probably calling right now to build support to challenge him. If they don’t get the majority, they are almost certain to dump McCarthy.

That would be wild. Wonder how it works if Rs split their votes for speaker and Ds vote as a block.

Tell him that next time he shouldn't believe polls that show things like suburban women going from Dem +12 to GOP +15 (yes, a 27-point shift) WITHIN ONE MONTH.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/white-suburban-women-swing-toward-backing-republicans-for-congress-11667381402

The fact that the GOP and the media unquestioningly swallowed those BS polls is just sad. Where are the Tim Russerts?

I don't have time to sift through 28 pages but I live in a small city in the Shenandoah Valley and our local school board election became very heated and it focused around LGBTQ+ rights.

There was a real risk of 2 Republicans winning and creating policies that would be deeply harmful to LGBTQ students but they lost! The democrats all won so I'm happy about that.

Jennifer Lewis lost to Ben Cline and that's disappointing but I thought I'd share our little win in the valley

Except maybe racists who are deliberately trying to pick the worst Bladk candidate they could find to make Black people look bad. His numbers make me super depressed about democracy. I absolutely don’t get it.

Walker is not a statesman or politician. He would produce no significant legislation. Herschel Walker is a vote, a reliable "R" vote who will do whatever he's told by the MAGA Republicans. Trump wanted a celebrity to run and he got one. It doesn't matter that he's dumber than rocks. The only reason he would be in the Senate is to rubber stamp conservative policies. Trump is enamored with celebrities and, hey, why not get one who's a minority?

Turns out the people of Georgia are smarter than Trump realized. This was a winnable "R" seat and Trump blew it.

Then please vote for Democrats. Republican extremists break into peoples homes and assault relatives of politicians and their leaders make jokes about it and encourage it.

The GOP is not tough on crime. They are the criminals. And they just lie about it.

But for Garland, it's not convenient. He needs an airtight case to get his man, and that takes time. McConnell just wants to clear a path for DeSantis. It will be fun to watch the Republican primaries, people!
