Wrong again! You get all huffy when someone says they aren’t going to cheer on a mega-corporation. Disney can be an ally while at the same time not being greedy. Follow the money and you’ll get there! World bank protests upset you today as well?

You have not provided a single fact to refute all of the detailed facts discussed in this thread and linked articles as to how this will harm residents of the surrounding areas. You are throwing out rhetoric that is entirely devoid of substance. Don't fall into the stereotype of the brainless rightwing sycophant - be better than that. |
Hm. It seems that Disney will actually get a $163 million dollar a year tax break. That's how much Disney kicks to Reedy Creek on top of the actual taxes in order to cover all the expenses. Once RC is dissolved in the counties take over, that $163 million is no longer collectible from Disney. The county taxpayers are on the hook, or the services at Disney (potholes, inspection, fire, police, etc are greatly reduced. |
| I don’t understand what people are getting all worked up over. DiSantis is one of the smartest politicians this country has. He is a man who came from immigrant Italian background, came from middle class parents, went to Yale and Harvard law on his own merit. Served our country in the Navy in Iraq. He is far more intelligent and grounded than most other governors, and he has a true appreciation for traditional family values and respects parents’ right to have a say in their children’s education. I for one was shocked when all of a sudden the short “Out”, about a young boy coming out to his family, suddenly popped up on my Disney+. Without warning. Without consent. Luckily my children are not old enough to use the platform on their own, but just think of how many children are given access to the content by their parents under the assumption that the content is developmentally appropriate and wholesome. I think Disney has gone so woke, it’s making Walt Disney turning in his grave. DiSantis has a backbone and common sense. I would be proud to call him my president. I really don’t see what the problem is. |
Lol he is a thug. The good thing is he will never be president. Just too creep. He seems to be obsessed with grooming kids…a lot like you. Where there is smoke there is fire. |
Here’s someone else who should read the thread and the links in it. |

Reedy Creek has been a sweetheart deal for Disney for over 50 years. It has allowed Disney to avoid water management regulations that all other businesses in the state must abide by. It also eliminates building regulations that again other businesses must abide by in the state.
Reedy Creek has allowed Disney to save millions per year by allowing Disney to do its own thing. Disney executives are idiots and also pretty big hypocrites. |
I see everyone has received their talking points. Did Tucker cover this? |
Disney+ has all sorts of content on it. What's wrong with a short about a boy coming out to his family? Why is it that the only permissible content is that which is provided with the consent of conservatives? Why is your interests any more important than those of all the other subscribers of Disney+. |
Funny how quickly the "actually this isn't about gay people it's about sexual content" turned into "there's a gay person who exists on my TV, someone must be punished." |
|
Disney not only gets a $163 million tax break from this but they get to shift the 1 billion in debt onto the state. Show me a business that wouldn’t love this!
DeSantis is a fool. |
I had no idea this short existed until pp mentioned it. I’ll have to check this out, it sounds excellent. |
He does give off a groomer pedophile vibe. |
Uh no. It is public record. Disney bought land on the sly in the 1960's and created Reedy Creek in 1967. They wanted a bigger spread than they had at Disney Land and more acreage to do what they wanted to. |
Again, read the thread. You’re not contributing anything new. |
