He hasn't "lied" or really addressed much of anything publicly. All he has tried to do is have a quiet, private, amicable divorce. The one who has had lots of public PR is her. Including now.

If you think his PR firm hasn't been hard at work this entire time, I have a bridge to sell you.

He's apparently in a relationship with another woman half his age, his people made a point of saying it's not exclusive. Interesting that he was a serial monogamist for most of his life and in late middle age is playing the field for all it's worth.
