Magazine issues

For everyone who subscribes to a food magazine (I do Bon Appetit), do you save all the issues? If so, how? If not, do you save parts? I feel like if I start tearing and saving, it would be the same size as a bound magazine.

I'm also a lifetime member of Eat Your Books, which makes it easy to search your cookbooks and magazines. I just know so many of the BA recipes are online now so don't know if worth it to save. Waiting for DH to start planting the "how long are you going to keep these" seeds lol

Epicurious.com has all those recipes online, and you can save in online recipe box. They have an app for it too.

I look up recipes online. The real favorites are saved in a folder on my laptop, and I have a file folder for them in the kitchen as well.
I have stopped all my magazine subscriptions except for Saveur and Cook's Illustrated.
Those I save carefully. I love going over the old issues of Saveur, especially the ones focused on a single country.

I have a set of file folders labelled for different types of food (meat, poultry, vegetables, pasta, etc). When I find a recipe I like, I rip it out and put it in the appropriate folder.

If I kept a stack of magazines, I would never be able to find a specific recipe in the gigantic pile. The folders make it easy for me to browse through all of the cake recipes, for example, that I've pulled out of various magazines.

I still pull out recipes and keep them in a folder. I will often look at them when I am having a dinner party but if I know what I want to make, I just google a recipe, still can't help myself tearing them out.

I cut them out, or upload them to Pinterest. It is hard to let go of the magazines! Though - I live in the city and put 2 years worth of Martha Stewart and Bon Appetit on the curb and someone took them all! So there may be a way for someone to reuse them.

I am a Cooks Illustrated magazine addict and I purchase their annual hard-bound book. It's about the same price of a yearly subscription but looks much nicer on the bookshelf. Most of my other magazines I rip out pages I want to keep, scan them and then recycle the rest or give them away. I have a Scan-snap machine set up to automatically upload to Evernote. We move around quite frequently with DH's job, lugging magazines around becomes very tiresome.

OP here - thanks everyone. I'm going to start saving to Pinterest and maybe just keeping the thanksgiving issues or something. Thanks!

I have a handheld scanner. Love it for stuff like this. There are iphone apps to use your phone's camera as a scanner, then you can organize with Evernote, etc.
