I don't really like it. We need to repaint our first floor and basement, and it seems like grey paint is all the rage. We're planning to sell in 2 years, and I would like something other than grey. I was chatting with a relator, and she said she strongly recommends sellers to do grey or possibly light blue and to definitely not do light beige or off white.
She said grey is here to stay. I want grey to go away. Design mavens, what do you say? (apologies to Sandra Boyton) |
| I think gray is just a trend. I give it two to three more years tops. |
|
Can you hold off painting for another year and see what's going on then?
I agree, I'm tired of these various shades of gray. |

beige and off white look dirty.
how about restoration hardware butter for basement . a mellow and pretty yellow |
| We have taupe and I think it's classic and also neutral and inoffensive. Grey is hard to do without being cold. |
| We want to paint the outside of our new home and like the gray paint/red door combination. I've also seen some pretty dark blue colors but it really does seem like grey is the thing now. Beige or taupe is so blah to me. |

yellow looks like a dog urinated on white cabinets |
| What about just white? |
| Personally I love grey but, I feel like any neutral color is fine as long as it goes with the furniture and accessories that you'll be staging your home with. |
| What about a gray/beige paint like Benjamin Moore's revere pewter? It has warm undertones and seems to appeal to people who don't like true grays because of the hardness of them. |
interesting, all yellow looks like dog pee? you must have a lot of dog pee on your cabinets.
|
| I love gray! There are so many shades. |
| Go with greige. |
| I think the colder grays may look dated at some point. But the warmer ones (taupe) are timeless. |
