Sock puppeting

Hi, Jeff. I didn't think the "Rude incident in Giant" thread was serious enough to be concerned with and I'm surprised it was locked due to sock puppeting since there was not even much vitriol or even debate, but I'm curious -- what were the sock puppeted posts by the OP? Can you tell us here?

I don't want to go through the effort of listing the sock puppetted posts, but they were essentially posts supporting the OP, saying things like "The OP said she was sorry. I don't see what the problem was" or "I do the same thing many times and don't think the OP did anything wrong".

I locked it because I want to discourage sock puppetting. Also, I really don't understand the mindset that causes someone to seek the reactions of others, but then need to defend their anonymous self when the reactions aren't as desired. Does the OP think that if she sock puppets enough she will convince everyone to change their minds? I don't know. I just don't get it.

But I get what you are saying if she was pretending she wasn't the OP. That is weird. (I'm PP BTW.)

Plus now I wonder if I am the only one in DC who lets others back in line.

I read the thread last night and actually was surprised to see people jump on OP. I am someone who lets people back in line. Life is too short to get upset over things like that. And if I need to get something while on line, I politely ask the person behind me. No one has ever said no. A smile and a kind thank you go a long way in this town.

Google "sockpuppet" as one word and check out the Wikipedia def. Seems like people who sockpuppet may need medication.
