OK, so it's time for DD's senior pics. Anyone have ideas as to good places for these? We are right on the border, in CCDC. She wants both nature-y shots and some urban. |
Just curious, but what are these? We had yearbook photos in HS, but they were all done at school by whatever photographer the school hired. |
Next to the old aquaduct in Georgetown. We took wedding pictures there and they turned out fantastically. |
What do you do with these pictures? I don't quite get the point. |
It's a memory. Just like family photos, wedding photos, etc. We hung them up, gave to grandparents, she gave to friends, etc. |
They're used for graduation announcements, yearbook, and to give to family and friends. |
That sounds a little gift-grabby, no? |
Huh? |
A ploy to get gifts. |
Again, huh? Senior pictures are a ploy to get gifts? |
Bishops garden and the national cathedral |
Why go to all the fuss to and expense have outdoorsy ones done? The senior packet we received from those roving photographers had some excellent selections and we used those for close friends for grad announcements. I've never heard of anyone doing a big casual outdoor photo shoot just for graduating. |
I'm not originally from this area, graduated HS 20 years ago and did senior pictures--you people really never heard of them?
Are you taking them or having them taken? Your photographer should have some ideas, but good that you are getting some, as well. |
Every single girl friend of DD had outdoor photos taken for senior year pics (in addition to the formal ones used for the yearbook). These photos are treasures to mark an important time (if you're into that kind of thing). They can also be used for your kid's senior ad if you buy one in the yearbook, for their grad party invitations and/or for announcements. But please, no gift necessary. |
Do you take these types of pictures for every graduation including ES and MS? Seems like you would want to preserve that special moment in time forever. |
