I've heard that sugaring may be less painful while pregnant, especially since I've never had a bikini wax before. Anyone know of any salons in the area that do sugaring? Specific recommendations for someone who is particularly good?
Thanks! |

OP. Thanks! I found that mention, too. I'm hoping for more recs so that I can compare pricing ![]() |
FYI, I didn't find sugaring any less painful than regular waxing. And I did notice that I was much more sensitive to waxing/sugaring and to plucking when I was pregnant. What's up with that -- was I just imagining it? |
OP. From what I've read, the increased sensitivity is due to the additional blood flow to the area during pregnancy. Darn it, I was really hoping that sugaring would be less painful. |
It's been a while (we moved away) but I think the aestetitician (SP) at PR & Partners in Shirlington used sugaring instead of wax (of course, I was only getting lip/eyebrows). I can't remember her name, but she was a former nurse who had changed careers.
I'm 7.5 months pregnant and can't even see my bikini area anymore, so not worrying about it ![]() |
