I'm 40, have 3 kids and have been a size 6-8 for about the past 15 years.
I'm still in that size range but over the past 5 years I've gained about 5-10 pounds, mostly around my waist. I have a roll. (ugh) I don't eat a ton to begin with so losing weight but just cutting calories has never worked. In a desperate attempt to get rid of the flab around my middle I cut out all sugar (aside from fruit) and all carbs (aside from fruit). 3 weeks later and I'm down 3-4 pounds. My clothing is looser. Mostly, I FEEL much better. I didn't loose anything for 2 weeks. Now for the past 5 days my weight is down consistently by 3 pounds. This sounds insignificant but it's huge for me. Low calorie diets do nothing for me because I don't eat that much to begin with. Cutting out most carbs and everything processed worked! I'm eating fruit, vegetables, nuts, meat, cheese and eggs. |

| I recently did the same and lost 8 pounds the first week. I'm sure it will slow down soon, but I'm enjoying it. |

I got the same result from going gluten free. I wasnt eating a lot of carbs in general or wheat in particular. Only when I completely eliminated it did the mystery 5 lbs drop.
Exercise didnt work, weight training didnt work, I was aleady on a low calorie diet, LOW gluten didnt work, GLUTEN FREE WORKED. |
| The same happened to me! I have lost 3-4 in the first week just by cutting out carbs and sugar (other than fruit). The nice thing is I am not starving all of the time like past diets. Actually, a few nights I felt like I was gorging (eating seconds of meat, lots of cheese, but mostly fruit and veggies) and I still lost weight. It is great! |
