Packing two kids for 12 days in Australia

Temps in upper 60s/low 70s. Lows in upper 40s. I can't wrap my brain around what to pack. Suggestions?

Fall/ spring clothes.

Pants and t-shirts with sweaters/sweatshirts to layer over them. Windbreaker.

I went to Australia on my honeymoon at this time of year and wore jeans, pants, long skirts, t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, a jean jacket and sweaters. Definitely layers.

Warm clothes. Where are you going? In many parts of Australia, there is minimal heat in houses, because it doesn't get terribly cold.

Layers is a great idea. T-shirts, hoodies, skirts, tights, windproof jackets. Packable raincoats. Warm pajamas. I'm from there--we'd dress in winter coats if the daily highs were in the 50s, which I think in part is due to not being acclimatized to cold, but it's also a dry climate, so cold temps feel colder, I think.

I'm from Perth--this time of year I'd wear jeans/skirt & leggings with a shirt and a jacket over the top in the daytime (with the option of removing the jacket), and I'd add in a sweater in the evening.

Slightly off topic but still important - buy the best, highest rated sunblock you can get and reapply constantly. Also, polarized sunglasses, esp,if you have light eyes. And hats. The sun is ferocious.

We're going to be in Gold Coast, Cairns and Sydney over the trip. Weather Channel 10 day forecast calls Cairns highs in the high 70s/low 80s. Sydney highs in the low-mid 60s. Gold Coast highs upper 60s/low 70s.
