Warm clothes. Where are you going? In many parts of Australia, there is minimal heat in houses, because it doesn't get terribly cold. Layers is a great idea. T-shirts, hoodies, skirts, tights, windproof jackets. Packable raincoats. Warm pajamas. I'm from there--we'd dress in winter coats if the daily highs were in the 50s, which I think in part is due to not being acclimatized to cold, but it's also a dry climate, so cold temps feel colder, I think. I'm from Perth--this time of year I'd wear jeans/skirt & leggings with a shirt and a jacket over the top in the daytime (with the option of removing the jacket), and I'd add in a sweater in the evening.
We're going to be in Gold Coast, Cairns and Sydney over the trip. Weather Channel 10 day forecast calls Cairns highs in the high 70s/low 80s. Sydney highs in the low-mid 60s. Gold Coast highs upper 60s/low 70s.
