Help me pick a vacation! (All Inclusive- Caribbean)

Anonymous
A couple of friends and I are looking into taking a nice beach vacation in January/February. I've been to the Bahamas, Grand Cayman and Jamaica so am looking for other options. We would like an all inclusive resort and are considering the Dominican or possibly one of the Virgin Islands. I don't want to do Mexico.

Anyone have any all inclusive resorts that they have stayed at and loved? If it matters, I would be flying out of Boston.

Jet Blue flies direct from Boston to Punta Cana-- there are a number of AIs there, including a Hard Rock which is pretty nice (esp. if you miss the spring break crowd).

sanctuary cap cana in punta cana was excellent all around. very close to airport, excellent food, and friendly people.

We recently did the RIU in Aruba. I believe Jet Blue may also have direct flights there from Boston. It was great and the weather may be nicer in Aruba in Jan./Feb. than some of the further north Caribbean Islands. I enjoyed the RIU and thought the service was great. I don't get the multiple comments you see on trip advisor about bad service. I sometimes think it might be the attitude one is projecting.

I loved Galley Bay in Antigua -- higher end food and drink and a beautiful beach (but that was several years ago, don't know what it's like now).

We've done several. Skip the DR..it's horrible except for a very few places.

We tried RIU in Costa Rica, Breezes in the Bahamas, Club Med in Turks, Club Med (just about everywhere) and several places in Jamaica.

Hopefully, someone will come up with the one place in the DR that is great. I can't remember the name. It has nannies as part of the room rental.

Not on your list but we liked the Marriott all-inclusive in St. Kitts. I don't think there are direct flights though. The town isn't great but there were good off-resort nature activities (zip lining I think, basic scuba diving options, hikes, day trip by ferry to Nevis)

Hated Punta Cana. Crappy beaches and cheesy resorts.
