Online first date gained 5-10 pounds

Anonymous
Ok, getting back out there after divorce. Met someone who asked me out for coffee. The pics I have are from last summer, I think I'm 5-10 pounds heavier at 5' 9" (woman). I'm working at losing that weight answer as we speak and seriously didn't think I'd get so much activity so fast online.

Should I do coffee now or put off for 2 weeks, since I'm going on vacation next Friday anyway? Currently losing about 1-2pounds per week. Don't want him to think I lied and wondering if he will even notice. An ideal weight for me would be about 20 pounds less than now, and so orig pic was about 10 pounds overweight.

Guys and ladies, what do you think?

I would go now. If the guy is put off by 5-10 pounds, you probably don't want to be with him anyway.

5 to 10 pounds on someone who is 5'9" is really not much. In any case, one always looks heavier in pictures--this will bring the real life you more in line with the picture.

divorced guy here - don't sweat it at all. go on the date, have fun. maybe you guys click, maybe you don't. just have fun, no expectations and remember, dating is a marathon not a sprint.

and more importantly, good for you for working out! I'm know you'll look even better when you hit your target - the natural sexiness and confidence of a woman can't be captured in an online profile!!

People expect that the online pic is the most flattering one from the last few years and that you may not look exactly like that all the time. People worth dating do, anyway.

You need to be honest and no one wants someone constantly fighting obesity in their genes

is your stupidity hindering your love life?

I understand you're nervous, but really, this is SO not a big deal. Don't even think about going on a crash diet, it's bad for your health (you lose muscle and gain back fat).

Relax, and go on that date!

Wow, you are mean.

I agree that 10 lbs on someone your height won't be that noticeable. I'm 5'3" and it would be noticeable. Don't stress about it.

Just don't talk about weight on a date.

I am 10 pounds up since having a baby and nobody notices.

I'm a guy who's really into fitness. 10lbs shouldn't even be noticeable to anyone who doesn't know your body very intimately. While you my notice you are more soft in some areas most men won't notice or care. Hell, they might even enjoy it.
