Survey on underwear and lingerie

In my 20s I bought cheap and "sexy" (i.e., trashy) bras and underwear. In my 30s I realized the importance of a good fit and neutral color scheme to look right under clothes. I also gave up thongs because I just can't. So now I wear gap cotton low-rise bikinis (because super comfy) and neutral colored Natori bras (excellent fit). Curious about what others wear, but not curious enough to ask my friends. Do you wear matching bras/underwear sets? Every day, or just for special occasions? Sexy or practical or comfortable underwear? Bonus points if you can point me to a brand that has 2 or those 3 qualities.
FWIW, I'm 35, cost is not an issue and I'd rather spend money on quality stuff that will hold up.

I only buy nude hanky Pankys. I love the fit, and the color works with my entire wardrobe. Bras are also nude for the same reason. Yes they match, but becAuse I only buy nude.

A coworker had to go home for a wardrobe change because you could see her hot pink polka dots through her gray pants. She was so embarrassed. It was faint, but you could still see it.

I like the VS lace thongs (similar to Hanky Panky). Bras are another story. I hate them all and it doesn't matter what I spend. They never match.

I also really like Hanky Panky. I buy a lot of colors, because I like color.

I have a totally average B cup so I'll buy from anywhere. I have lots of different stuff, and I change it up about once a year - I don't think DH could pick out which are my older stuff. I wear Gap boyshorts or hipsters on "my ladies days."

Natori is great. I just buy cotton bikinis that match the color. I don't wear thongs and don't like synthetic underwear.

My underwear and bras usually don't match. I have a few sexy matching sets but only wear them on days when I know I'll be getting some action.

Panties have to be seamless bikini briefs, either Jockey or Soma. Bras have to be back-smoothing, either Cacique or Soma. I have white, black, and nude colors.

Always maidenform or warners thongs. Always comfy ones that look sexy too.

Is Hanky Panky really that great? I don't generally like thongs (my butt is on the jucier side of things, so maybe they work better for flatter butts?). But everyone in the world seems to swear by Hanky Panky. I've also grown to dislike synthetic fabric for my underwear and prefer breathable cotton. Any good cotton underwear recs?

In my 20s, I was all about VS. Then the quality started to go downhill, and my boobs got bigger. And I was probably wearing the wrong size at VS anyhow, as I was probably a 32F back then.

bras (32G): all t-shirt bras, mostly nude, some black, a few colors that were on sale and I can wear under dark tops and dresses; Wacoal and Le Mystere are the two brands I have found that fit my busty, petite frame.

undies: Hanky Panky thongs in lace, cotton or the seamless microfiber stuff; Road Runner bikinis (or maybe they are hipsters?) for running; searching for the perfect bikinis to wear under dresses; a lot of nude and black, but also some colors.

I don't care if my bra and undies match. Sometimes they do, but often I'm wearing light on the bottom and dark on top, or vice versa.

My butt is on the smaller end, but I do find Hanky Panky to be more comfortable than any other thong I've tried. The classic lace one is "one size fits most" (they have a plus-size one, too). The lace is quite airy with a cotton crotch, so it is fairly breathable, IMO. They also make a cotton one, although they have changed the design since I bought mine. I think those are all one size. Worth the money to try once.

Underwear from costco--and I really need to go bra shopping. Currently wearing stretched out VS bras that I either got before or after I had my oldest child--and he's 9.

Hear a lot about the Natori bras on this forum too, are they really that good?

+1

after almost 2 years of trying to replace my VS string bikinis (absolute crap quality now), finally found the itsy-bitsy bikinis at Costco...they aren't string, which I typically like, but they are cut up higher in the leg/hip area

also, like the precious poster, still wearing old stretched-out VS bras, until I find some comfortable ones to replace them with, that's taking forever too

I buy all cotton comfortable underwear. For bras, I usually buy nude colored push up bras. I don't care they match the underwear. I don't wear lace bras or undies. They are too uncomfortable.

I used to wear jockey microfiber thongs, but they were discontinued. Now I wear hanky panky. I love them, but the expense annoys me.

I don't sleep in thongs though, at night I wear cotton jockey bikinis.

Love my natori bra.
