| One of my neighbors a couple streets away is having an extremely loud party with their extremely loud, crappy music. This person lives at least a couple streets away. The bass is so loud I can feel it even with the windows closed. Why? What is the appeal of this? Does the entire neighborhood have to hear your crappy music? I have a headache and am in a venting mood. /vent over |
| Call the cops. The neighbor is breaching the peace. You all put up with shit when you don't have to. |
| Count yourself lucky. My neighbor is the same, but she lives next door. In an apartment. We share a wall. Her apartment is the designated after party designation, so things pick up at about 2:00 a.m. It's awesome. |

| You can ask the cops to be anonymous. |
This is not true. If you call the police, then the people you call on will be notified that youwere the party that called on them. That is standard. You can never call the police on someone, then remain anonymous to who you called them on. Unfair maybe, but won't happen. Sorry.
I say as long as it is on a weekend or holiday, don't be a party pooper/buzz kill. As long as it happens occasionally, and not every weekend, let them have fun. In some countries such as Mexico, the police would laugh at you if you called them for this. Why not instead put on your shoes and go over there and join them?
|
No, they won't. God, if you don't know something, don't make it up just to stir the shit. And we don't live in Mexico, which evidently you view through the racist lens of happy natives. I really despise people like you. You're part of the slide of standards and manners. Parties don't need to be felt blocks away. That is never acceptable. |
| Hahaha, you think the police tell the neighbors who called? They most definitely do not. Bizarre. |
| Pay phone |
lol there aren't that many payphones around anymore. |
The OP was at 6:07 pm. Hardly the wee hours, and I think you can put up with it. Now if it were 2 am, or 6:07 am, or every night, a call to the cops might be warrented. |
| OP here. I had a headache, so I realized my gripe was only dcum-venting worthy and not worth calling the police, especially at 6 pm. For what it's worth, all of my surrounding neighbors have had big parties and get-togethers at various times, and it's never bothered me, even if I can hear some music, etc. It's not a big deal. This person lives two streets away, and it was as if they were having a party in my living room. I have a 6 month old and a 2 year old and that's just not going to fly for the entire day and night. I even went out for awhile because it seemed stupid to sit and stew, and when I came home they were still going at full blast, and I finally gave up at 10 pm and called the police, who didn't ask me for any information about myself. |
Good for you, OP, I would have (and have) done the same thing. And yeah, the police never ask you for any information about yourself, just the location of the noise disturbance. They may ask for a phone number so they can call you back with questions/follow-up, but you don't have to provide it for them to show up. |
Wow, you are just spectacularly wrong. Also, in America, the police know that they work for the public, and they actually enforce laws, even laws like noise disturbances. I know, incredible. If you enjoy lawlessness and spreading misinformation, though, I welcome you to leave for whatever other country you so desire. Here in the U.S., the police take public disturbances seriously (thank god). |
