If your HHI is 75-85k

How much is your mortgage payment?
What other large payments/expenses do you have and how much? (Student loan, car payment, childcare etc.)

You don't have a mortgage.

We were about 70 or 75 before I stopped working to SAH. Mortgage 1200 and no other large expenses. No other loans.

We're 91K, hope this is helpful. Yes we have a mortgage - $1,350/month including taxes and insurance. We were lucky enough to buy in Shaw in 2000.

I'm a SAHM so no childcare expenses although we did enroll our older son in 3-day/week daycare when our second son was born so I could have one-on-one time with him. Kept that up until older DS was able to go into the DC Coop preschool program.

All of our other expenses are pretty normal. Around $700/month for groceries and household stuff, $150 ish for eating out, some money into retirement and $150 for each kid's college fund. No car payment (we have an old reliable Accord that we repair as needed). Reasonable vacations - beach trips, things like that, a few times a year. No student loans.

Hope that helps.

We were at a salaried 85K when we bought our house.
No childcare expenses, but our mortgage is $2700 a month! Still can't believe banks let you do that.
However we planning to pay said mortgage with dividends from investments.
Our HHI has gone up since then, although now the kids are older and way more expensive, so we're still cash-strapped.

Love our dream house, though

How could you afford that mortgage?!
Any student loans/other big expenses?

Also PP's, how much went to retirement?

$84k with a $1200 mortgage on a teeny house. Single mom with one kid. Luckily it's low as my employer contributes very little for health care. I pay about $600 a month for that.

970 + condo fee, no other debt

93K 1,700 mortgage I'm SAHM. One kid in private school one at home with me. We are pretty tight on cash and I wish we would have found a cheaper place or rented.

I'm probably going back to work soon. I hope.

I don't have a mortgage - I rent, for $1370 per month. in SF, where housing costs are insane. No other major debt, no childcare expenses besides .... you know - having a child who needs to be fed and clothed.

I am ignorant of your location, yes. That's why I asked, so you could inform me.

Still waiting!
