How often do you color your gray roots?

Luckily my hair grows fast. This means I have to color my gray roots every two weeks. I only do touch up on the roots and I don't pull the hair color through to the rest of my hair. I have to use permanent level three to color my resistant gray. Since my hair is naturally dark it is easy to color. I had it highlighted and it looks natural. I have been able to go at least a couple of months just blending in the gray.

Every 3 weeks. Only on the roots unless my hair gets bleached from chlorine/sun, then the color is pulled through to the ends.

Salon every 3 months if I can push it, color with root touch up at 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how it's growing out. I love my stylist, but can't afford going every 6 weeks.

Every 2 weeks. After 20 years of coloring my roots, both in the salon and out, I have mastered the art of coloring. Cannot stand to see my grary roots! In fact, I'm carving out some time tonight to color.

Nothing worse than seeing gray roots, especially against darker hair.

I should go more, but cannot afford it. I stretch it to about 9-10 weeks, if I can. I have dark, curly, thick hair, and it's several inches past my shoulders. If I could find the time and the will to do it myself, I would. I know it would look better if I did it more often, but c'est la vie!

Every 2 weeks. I use the nice and easy root touch up and then after 2 weeks i use a drugstore permanent. I keep alternating and it is a huge pain, but a biggr pain to have to keep going to the salon.

i wish I could afford the cost and time to visit a salon because my hair definitley looks like it was colored at home.

Ideally every 3 weeks, but sometimes I get lazy or busy and push it to 5 weeks and it looks bad.

I have dark hair naturally so when my roots show, the contrast looks just awful to me.

Nothing ages you more than gray roots peeking through.

You know how you will see a woman who has beautifully colored hair and she has an attractive and youthful appearance. Then you see the top of her head, at the part and she has white/gray roots and you automatically say to yourself, "Wow...She is a lot older than I thought?" Hahaha!!

Wow, I feel fortunate that I can go 7-8 weeks. But I dyed my hair a dirty blond color (with highlights) so the gray isn't as noticeable as it would be against my brown hair. It never looked all that great when I did it myself; been going to the salon for years.

Every 4 weeks, although 3.5 would be better.

What tips do you have? I use Natural Instincts every 4 weeks or so, but by 2 weeks they grey is coming in, and I really should do it more often. But I can't stand doing it; I leave it on for 45 minutes or they grey doesn't color. I've started to realize the color I choose is too dark, so I've dialed it back to medium brown. I've got a box of the L'Oreal reusable mousse, but it's "permanent" and I haven't opened it yet. I kinda wish my hair would stop growing (or that I had the balls to just let it grow out).

Every three weeks. I didn't know how good I had it before I went gray.

It needs it every 2-3 weeks. I do it about 3 times a year.

Me too but I'm pregnant now and am on week 8 since my last color and I look terrible! I can't believe I have to walk around like this for another 5 weeks. I'm only 33!
