| What are some of the WASP-iest names you've ever heard? |
| Simon James Alexander Ragsdale III |
|
Last names used as first or middle names, BUT they have to be names from the parents' actual families.
If your grandmother's maiden name was Winthrop and you want to use it as your child's middle name, excellent. If you just think Winthrop sounds classy, then turn in your WASP card. |

These days it's hard because many of them have been cooped by the general population. But:
Piper Cricket (short for Catherine) Harrison (boy) Emsy (Short for elizabeth) Quinn (boy, 5th in his family to have the full moniker, so called Quinn) Thayer Camilla (called Millie) Arthur John Lavinia |
+1 I know 1 Winthrop, who goes by Winn. |
Who goes by Terry. Or Tripp. |
|
Edmund Winston (One Syllable English Last Name) III
|
| Fielding |
Ha. Can a turtle be a wasp? |
|
WASPs keep using the same few names over and over and within the same generation, so in order to eliminate confusion, a distinctive nickname is bestowed upon the child at birth or soon thereafter that likely will have very little relation to birth name.
So, Catherine Mary Hopkins will be forever known as Ticky, because this is what her younger brother called her when trying to say "sister" as a three year old. John Warren Calhoun III will be called Warren or "War" because granddad was Jack and Dad's JW. |

Harrison is NOT a Waspy name. I live in NYC, and I am Jewish, and I know 3 or 4 Harrison Jewish baby boys. Go by "Harry." Not Waspy. at least anymore.
I find most Wasps actually use very classic names- William, Katherine, Benjamin, Elizabeth, etc. |
Hmm, I think I know him. Does he by any chance, have a sibling named Bob? |
|
James
Edward Henry William George Elizabeth Anne Margaret |
Isn't Tripp a Palin name? Hardly the torchbearer for the wasps. |
i.e., the English monarchy names |
