Of course they didn’t.

Absolutely purposeful. Anna Wintour hates Blacks (she absolutely has an inexplicable inability to photograph or pic photos of them) As it's been shown.

She's a phoney and it shows

Always with the big dark glasses and the same hair bob. You think a fashion leader would be more fashionable and less racist.

True. And Vogue — at least the US edition — has become less and less relevant in recent years. I attribute that to the editing since I don’t feel similarly about the international editions of Vogue that I’ve seen.

Why is she still influential? She’s obviously racist so I don’t know why more poc don’t refuse to work with her or aggressively call her out on it. She needs to be canceled.

What abut Michelle Obama’s covers? Were those well-received?

Oh look, cancel culture. I think racist people find racism in others. She has beautiful shots of Mrs. Obama, Serena, Naomi, etc. She likes and supported Kanye's fugly fashion line, etc. I think we must have trolls here.

Twitter doing its job by suggesting lots and better pics than the V cover shots befitting Kamala.

It's a terrible photo - I cannot fathom why they would choose a frumpy, unflattering photo of a gorgeous (powerful!) woman who usually photographs really well!

Like the Chucks, though

The Chucks are cute and fine. But we saw better pics of her wearing them from pool reporters as she hopped off/on an airplane to/from her waiting vehicle.
And the point that all parties had agreed to a different pic for the cover. Come on Vogue, do better.

Well, as someone that doesn’t always follow, this controversy made me look up both the pictures. I think in the pink background they are asserting a few gender stereotypes. She comes off as a novice, unassuming, maybe a little green behind the ears. I don’t think it is threatening at all - the clasped hands actually look more agreeable and submissive. The blue powder suit is nice, she is a little too airbrushed. All oh her pictures are good pictures.

I'll assume you don't know - the pink and green is a nod to her sorority - has nothing to do with gender stereotypes - https://aka1908.com/home
First Black sorority, founded in 1908. Her pearls are a nod to the sorority as well.

Thank you, I’m aware. The symbolism is a sloppy execution that downplays the rich history of the organization. Much more they could have done. They could have had her wearing pink/green/pearls and some sort of bridge to symbolize helping mend and building new coalitions. A pink pepto bismol drop of a satin waterfall on that she is standing on with chucks with a look of gentle and feminine submission is not it. Don’t know anything about the editor so can’t comment to her motive.

Or she could have been holding a bouquet of pink green ans pears while seated at a desk with with an American flag as backdrop while she wore a white suit.

Or they could have put them in a vase ans age could have had her legal briefcase next to it.
Something. Anything. I think they’re trying to play into gender stereotypes with subliminal messaging through exclusion of critical traits that show where she intersects in a lot of areas of differentiation. Even faith, race, all of it.

I think she’s beautiful and am so happy she will be our next VP.

It would have been nice if it had some shape to it. It looks like she borrowed her husband's overcoat.
