Sadly true. What if there had been another cop in Costco that day who didn’t know the other guy was an off-duty cop? He looked like any other mass shooter, gunning down men and women. There would have been a blood bath.

What if...what it...blah blah blah

What if it was an active shooter and an off duty police officer took out the shooter?

You people are so brainwashed by the media. You sit around waiting for a video that appears to validate your hatred for police officers. And then you pretend to know what you're talking about despite having zero training or experience. Meanwhile, thousands of police officers deescalate potentially violent situations and choose not to shoot when faced with a potentially deadly threat.

What media dum-dum?
I guess you got your information from smoke signals and not the media.

I’m glad the shooter’s identity and the video will inevitably come out. Costco has an intense interest at odds with the typical LEO trash mindset of hiding and exonerating inexcusable escalation. The fail-cop killed one nonverbal person and put his parents in the ICU. Why can some of you smears not empathize with the parents in the hospital? It’s a parenting board, twits.

So we've got a "gentle giant" WHITE man attacking a BROWN man and his baby, and many posters on this thread want to say that the racist officer shot a "disabled man" because of his brown skin.

What are you babbling about? No one even knew the race of the officer until now. But way to play the victim to defend the 100% innocent cop.

Leftist swiveling when the race card was first played and the leftists find out the officer is brown

Sanchez does not necessarily equal brown skin

The victims doesn’t look white to me. I thought the mother was from India.

WTF are you talking about? I really hope you’re joking. If not, your stupidity is off the charts.

The victim’s last name is Sanchez. I’m not sure where his mother is from.

Perhaps. and I would imagine that if the video shows he was truly out cold, the defense would go that direction. But to me, it's just another reason why people shouldn't carry around guns as commonly as they do their wallets. So many things that could go wrong in an instant. Three people gunned down in a Costco! And the article below shows that more could have easily been killed as the officer opened fire.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/18/us/costco-shooting.html
David Winslow, a lawyer for the officer, told The Los Angeles Times that his client had been shopping with his wife and 18-month-old son when he was knocked to the ground by a large man, later identified as Mr. French, while they were standing in line waiting to taste food samples.

Mr. Winslow, who could not immediately be reached for comment on Tuesday, told The Los Angeles Times that the officer was briefly knocked unconscious.

Dianne Bawit, a 21-year-old student at California State University San Marcos, said she had been shopping for bottled water when she saw a man, who she later learned was the police officer, falling to the ground. She said he had appeared to be in distress.

“He fell pretty hard because I heard a pretty big thump on the ground,” Ms. Bawit said. “He looked like he had a heart attack.”

Ms. Bawit said she initially went to help the officer, but retreated as the altercation escalated.

“He stood up by himself. He pulled out his handgun and starts triggering five to seven shots,” Ms. Bawit said, adding that she was within 10 feet of the men and then took cover. “I was hiding in between the meat aisle, behind the freezer section. I thought I was going to be dead, too.”

Wow - he fired several times?!

People should be able to go to Costco without getting shot by off-duty cops. WTF?!

Don’t attack a cop, and you won’t have a problem.

Weird how three people got shot, then. Seemed like 2 of them shouldn't have had a problem in your imaginary world.

+1 But the heartless PP would probably say that it's the fault of the two elderly parents for having a disabled kid in the first place.

There were no "elderly parents." 52 is not "elderly."

Also, this isn't the guy's first criminal act. Someone on facebook commented on how the guy stole her car shortly before Christmas, with her kid's Christmas gifts inside. The car was recovered, but not the gifts. The parents promised to reimburse her if she didn't pursue charges. The parents were enablers. They are just as culpable.

People who steal cars or Christmas gifts deserve to be shot and killed. Idiots like your are such sheep. Every time a cop kills someone under suspicious circumstances, a story comes out about other crimes the victim had committed as if to justify the death. Then you parrot the story without even thinking about how crazy the whole situation is.

The officer is a parent too.

No, the victim is named French. The parents are Indian. Lots of Indians have English last names.

The story keeps changing. Sometimes defense attorney’s float multiple versions to see which gets the most support.

How has it changed.
The story has been corroborated.

"De-escalate a situation"?? There WAS no "situation" until that maniac pulled out a gun. One guy was knocked over, possibly by accident, in a crowded store. Happens a lot, believe it or not. It doesn't make the news though because nobody starts firing bullets at people.

But yes, it certainly does sound like the guy was a shitty cop and a loose cannon. And a murderer. He should be in prison for 2nd degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

You are making it sound like this guy bumped into the cop by accident (Oops! Sorry, dude!), the cop lost his balance, fell down and came up shooting. That's different than being attacked, slammed to the ground and briefly knocked out which is what the cop's lawyer has indicated happened.

We need to see the video tape.

Yeah, a totally neutral party.

Initially it was an argument.

Now that it came out French was nonverbal, it’s that the cop was feeding the child and was attacked without warning.

I suspect that it will change again when the footage is released.
