Waitlisted as follows: #23 for DC Bilingual
#5 for Stokes French (Brookland)
#10 for Stokes Spanish (Brookland)

Yu Ying was our 4th choice. I’m over the hill happy!!!!

Swami sense you aren't so sure about Yu ying now that it is happening, and will get in Stokes French, enrolling happily

Swami you read my mind! I’m now at #18 for DCB, but neither of my stokes numbers have budged. Any thoughts on a timeframe for when the Stokes numbers will start moving?

Swami says keep showing up for Langley playdates, you'll end up a Tiger. This year.

Be negative if you must, but we applied because a friend's child is currently attending K and they like it. We didn't initially list it because I figured we could get in post-lottery so I wanted to use our 12th spot for something else.

I'm confused. What was the negative thing Swami said? I think Swami is saying that you will get in. That seems positive to me. What am I missing?

NP. Swami loves to imply that everyone leaves Langley after one year. But we are happily enrolled for K after a solid preschool experience.

But only stay for one year.

New PP here. I'm not a Langley parent, but I know plenty that are. Many families seem really excited for Langley until they leave for a nearby charter. It's just what it is.

It is hard in Ward 5 with so many charters, and it's hard for all schools that don't have a desirable feeder pattern. But the one-year thing is just not true anymore. It's more like two or three years, holding out for a desirable match, not just whatever else you can get.

Not Swami, but I think you're just a tad too far. If that were your number on April 1 I might think differently.
