Private + legacy and $$$

And in the case of one of those kids, a multi-generational legacy and grandson of a VP.

Which VP?

My niece is at Riverdale Country. My cousin said she looked at many and it was the best private she toured in NYC. Their early results matriculations look amazing but from what I understand they are majority recruited athletes/legacies so hard to extrapolate much until the much larger RD cycle.

Looking at Trinity. Not a single Stanford, Caltech or MIT

Trinity sends a lot to Stanford every year (3-5 usually, in the last few years). It's a humanities school so not surprising they don't send as many to MIT/Caltech (probably 1 every few years or so).

You'll see it in the RD round. Trinity has the best college placements of any co-ed NYC private.

True, for whatever reason the kids don’t want to post.

Trinity’s T10 acceptances per median household income is relatively low compared to DC schools. This stat is the most important.

By that metric, skip private and send your DC to Hunter, Stuy or Bronx Science.

I don't think it's relevant, or even makes sense, to compare median housecome income to where kids get into college. Can someone explain?

I think it’s about if the students are over performing what was given to them. I don’t understand why they used median and not mean though.
