Open gallbladder surgery (removal). Hope it is nothing serious and she has a speedier recovery!

Doesn’t she follow some really weird crazy high protein diet ?? Dukan??

It’s infamous for constipation & bowel obstructions….

And with the 8:30pm convoy to the hospital—that speaks more emergency

The X poster corrected it to say 6.30pm was time of footage. If it was HRH Catherine then it's a possibility she's been in hospital since Dec 28th, maybe a different hospital as an 'acute' case for around 3 weeks, and then admitted for a 'planned' surgery at TLC yesterday.

All just speculation and I'm starting to feel a bit guilty as I'm sure it's last thing she wants.

I think she does a lot for our RF and I wish her a smooth and swift recovery.

Thanks. Feel the same way. Guilty for wanting to know/pry as I am very private and not even in the public eye like her. Especially with young kids that probably don’t know much either.

Agreed. I'm the poster who had colon cancer almost 5 years ago. I didn't tell many people what was happening until after the surgery occurred and we knew I was going to be ok. First, it was shocking and hard to deal with on a personal level (longest 2 weeks of my life). Second, I am private about these parts of my life. Third, I didn't want to scare everyone until we had more information. All my kids knew was that mommy was having surgery and that I would be home after a few days.

Now imagine having a tough surgery and EVERYONE demanding details about it. And you've also got 3 kids who are probably afraid for mommy. While she knew she would have very little privacy when she became a royal, the lack of medical privacy has to be hard.

I also was just on the edge of HG during my pregnancies, so I sympathized with her then, as well.

Thoughtful post. Thank you.

Me too! I am obsessively private and forbid any of my family from telling anyone anything!! Feel for her as she's clearly quite a naturally shy person. Even more impressive she carries out her public role so we'll IMHO.

Omg I hope you're not American, this boot licking is so embarrassing.

I'm happy and grateful to be a citizen of a country with a constitutional monarchy and King as Head of State and Head of the Courts.

It's a system that works well for many countries. Ofc there are alternatives, Macron, Putin, Trump. Each to their own. Our Kings and Queens do not in my view have any kind of life I envy. But QE2 was there with her tupperware and Christianity and a calendar of public duties which put many 'public servants' to shame.

RiP Queen Elizabeth! Long Live the King!

I don't give a shit what your pathetic little island believes in. Go ahead and worship your god king for all I care. But we, the best country on earth, don't believe that we should be ruled by someone because he came out of the right vagina. Any Americans who Stan for the BRF should be ashamed of themselves.

Let's start by stripping Meghan and Harry of their nonAmerican titles while they live here. For now on, it's Meghan Markle Mountbatten-Windsor and Harry Mountbatten-Windsor.

Wow we made it 27 pages this time before a MM mention. Well done everyone, let’s try for 30 next time.

I know this shocks your tiny brain, but I also dislike Harry and Meghan, because they are part of the monarchy.

It doesn't because I don't worry about name-callers. They get their posts yanked by Jeff.

I agree with you about about monarchies, but the bolded is dumb too.

Ok name a better one. America invented electricity, the telephone, the car, the airplane, the internet. We have the most Nobel prizes and Olympic medals. We create 90+% of the world's film and television. We're the oldest existing democracy.

All without Kate Middleton's help. Imagine that.

But….they don’t actually govern. They’re just a classy reality show.

I think some further reading would help. The monarch has to approve a number of things and could in theory, in emergency, refuse or order dissolution of parliament.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-11200247/amp/Peter-Hitchens-Head-State-not-politicians-true-defender-freedom.html

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/09/08/queen-constitutional-monarch-understood-british-people/

How does it affect us day to day? Well, the armed forces work for our monarch. The courts. I am happy that so much land which could otherwise be in the hands of people like Putin or oligarchs or whoever, is in trust to the RF. QE2 was reported as saying she didn't own any of it, just looked after it. There is so much heritage in the RF, do much history. It's deeply ingrained in our culture. Some may be against monarchy, but still they would surely admit it is part of our culture. I find only good things flow from having a constitutiinal monarchy. It's right that they don't have political power as such, since they were not elected.

If ppl wish to argue against monarchy on the basis of it being wrong ethically or morally or maybe economically then I'm all for it. Prince William has to listen to criticisms all the time even in public from commonwealth leaders who no longer want the British monarch as Head etc. It must he really hard. It will get worse. People will stage more protests etc now QE2 is gone.

If Prince Andrew was going to be King I'd probably vote against monarchy if it was not possible for intervention and appointment of a different person as monarch. Like King Edward abdicated, and so he should have.

Thank goodness it's Charles who took throne. William seems to be a perfectly decent human who will do his utmost for the UK. His homelessness and mental health projects are admirable.

I loved the Duke of Edinburgh's projects too, as well as King Charles's laudable focus on the environment, protecting architecture, and the countryside.

Dumfries House was 'rescued' by him and is an example of the conservation which the RF undertakes.

Anyway, on topic, I really hope the surgery and cause will have no lasting impact.
