Coaching staff at Visi

I believe that 3-4 2928 Stars players are going, or will go, to SSAS.

Recommend caution on using the "top" adjective, especially if you are a team insider.

Would a rigorous private spring season prep girls better going into sophomore summer tournament season?

Clearly you do if you took the time to post this, just not the way you intended.

Someone was discussing private vs public. I am glad that you don't care enough that you care enough to post.

There is also at least one local top player on M&D, who I would guess will be attending public. I think the Hero's girls are mostly headed to private. Pride is a mix of public and private, with probably more than 50% headed to private. Don't forget about Stars, which has at least a few of the top local players who I think are staying public. Not sure whether any of these girls will be attending Visi.

Top Stars girls always seem to end up at SSSA

If the top stars girls are going to make Capital, there is no reason for their parents to pay for a private HS education. The VA public schools are a better option than the MD public schools so there isn’t as much of a need to seek out a private school. The recruiting will be done through club, so that removes that factor from the equation as well. Look at the 24s and 25s. Several VA public school girls have found homes at D1 programs, including top 25 programs.

This is an odd take. The private school education is worth it for the education (agree that it probably makes no difference for a Capitol player in recruiting). As for quality of schools, I think you have it backwards. Other than TJ, comparably seated MoCo schools are better than FFX/Arlington. Alexandria's public HS is a sh*tshow.

I agree with your MoCo schools statement, and it applies the same. If they are already playing for a top club, there isn't a reason for them to pay private school tuition in order to get good education and get recruited. If you have the means and desire to attend a private school, that is your choice but claiming it is a superior education is not always an accurate statement depending on the school and the individual student.

back to NOVA, Alexiandria public schools are a disaster and shouldn't even be in the discussion. However, the NoVa lax scene no longer resides solely in Arlington and Alexandria. Many of the top 24s-29s are in Fairfax, Vienna, Oakton, Centreville, and beyond in Prince William County. The public schools in Fairfax and Prince William have a lot to offer because of their size, funding, specialty programs and dual enrollment options, along with stricter requirements for teacher certification. They also have competitive sports programs and give athletes the opportunity to play more than one sport. I understand the benefits the private schools lacrosse teams having more depth and talent, but they are already getting that competition by playing for a top 5 club. And club is now a year round commitment. They are playing with and against top talent in the fall, winter and summer.

There are clearly benefits to a private education, which is why people continue to be willing to shell out money for it. But, it is not the end all be all, nor is it superior in every facet especially if your home zip code has an acceptable option that you tax dollars are already paying for.

The breakdowns also don't show where the kids live. As stated previously, if you live in Alexandria City Schools district there is a 100% chance you are going to a private school. So, the private vs public stats can be skewed if the kids are coming from areas with less attractive public school options.

Interesting . . . but would still like to know the 2027 breakdown if anyone can share. Thank you!
