What is the point of playday?

You want to try out players at different positions? There's PRACTICE.

You want to play other teams and not keep score? You can SCRIMMAGE.

Both are FREE and don't require and entry fee.

I would guess that they are not the highest ranked YJ team and they have to compete in different brackets.

Not officially a tournament for USA lacrosse. They don’t keep scores. There’s no scoring table, just refs.

Teams get to try things they would not normally do during a game. It’s fun seeing players try new positions.

My kid has participated in a lot of play days and I don’t need a scoring table to know if they came out ahead or not. You know how your team fared even without official scoring, especially in lopsided games.

Was there. St James didn’t have any close games.

I'm assuming NXT dominated playday as DMV parents aren't talking.

NXT lost 3 in a row on Saturday to BLC, M&D and MDU. Surprised they dominated on Sunday.

NXT had close games. Definitely did not dominate.

NXT parents are insufferable.

Not a big deal to pay an entry fee.

Practice is not the same as a game environment. Hard to get three scrimmages with quality teams on the same day.

When teams sign up for A division in a tournament, are there different tiers to select from? Or do the tournament schedulers determine the tiers from the applicants?

How does Legacy get to be in the top bracket in LLL? BLC and Coppermine get to be in the second hardest bracket.

You register from 5A to 1A with 5A being the best of the best, not A, B, C, etc.

All schedulers are different with some preferring to try to get more out of state matchups (so you don't travel out of state to play a team from your backyard). And some take requests more into consideration than others like for those that have flights to catch they may give them preference for earlier games on Sunday if they ask for it.

You also need to pay officials. Money has to come from somewhere.

Seems YJMA registered for 3A bracket this tournament. Should be an easy weekend for them.

Most likely YJ organization didn’t want YJ teams to play other YJ this weekend : YJ Babst in 1st O’Sullivan in 2nd and YJMA in 3rd…bummer for them

IT will drop them in rankings, sometimes you can beat these teams by 10 but still drops you down based on the math.
