| PVI 6 GZ 5 Final |
Pretty good call |
|
I'm not surprised by the outcome at all.
I saw Gonzaga earlier in the week and their settled 6v6 offense needs some serious work. PVI is building a perennial program in Loudoun county. |

Neutral Observer Top 10, Week of March 20th:
1. Georgetown Prep (2-2): Despite the OT loss to Haverford this week, the Lil Hoyas remain on top with their offensive firepower. A date with rival Gonzaga is next. 2. SJC (2-2): A lopsided loss to Canadian power, Hill Academy, is nothing to hang your head on. 3. Bullis (3-1): Bulldogs didn't show up vs traditional Philly power, Malvern Prep this weekend. 4. PVI (3-2): Panthers have won 3 straight and have the raw athleticism to keep them in every game this spring. 5. Zaga (2-2): Purple Eagles need to figure out their offensive woes... crosstown Jesuit rivals are on deck this Friday. 6. STA (4-2): Bulldogs are inconsistent but have racked up quality wins over St. Pauls and Spalding. Gilman looms 7. Landon (2-2): Da Bears need to find some offense if they want to win some games this Spring. Good win over Episcopal Academy in the annual IAC / Inter-Ac Challenge 8. DeMatha (2-3): After a brutal non-league schedule, the Stags have won 2 straight. DeMatha has the horses to run with a lot of teams, Landon is on deck 9. Episcopal (2-0): The Maroon will face some competition with week with Blue Ridge (HOF Coach Dom Starsia) and PVI 10. St. James (2-1): The tiny boarding school in rural Hagerstown MD is starting to catch some attention HM: St. Stephens The Heights |
How many coaches are on the Gonzaga staff? Seems they have about 10 or more. That could be their problem. Way too many voices. |
|
Gonzaga has historically had 10+ coaches when Casey O'Neill was the head coach.
PVI is better than people are giving them credit for, they were the better team last night. |
I would relax on the offense is awful narrative. McD game was a time of possession issue, yesterday PVI defense was very solid, goalie made some great saves, I was impressed with the really big kid on D he moves well for his size. Is he committed to play anywhere in college? |
Probably the Michigan commit - only a junior. |
Their big kid (Griffin Hart) is committed to play offensive line at JMU. PVI switched up their coordinators right before the start of season and they seem to be finding their stride and playing better each week. GZ will be fine, their defense is elite... they ran into a great goalie and very good defense. Was a very exciting game to watch in a great atmosphere. |
Sorry but St. James has no business in the top 10 or even top 15 for that matter. Put Heights in at 10 just slightly over SSSAS. I also think Heights and SSSAS will overtake Episcopal by end of the year. |
| Bullis has a really weak schedule the next week and a half until they play Gonzaga on the 31st. Over the next 10 days they play four easy win teams, so don’t be fooled by their win column. Gonzaga will likely be a reality check for Bullis, unless they get injured like last year. |
|
Some of the games on today’s slate:
Bullis vs St Andrews: I think Bullis rolls easily but the St Andrews goalie helps keep the score somewhat respectable Episcopal vs Blue Ridge: Blue Ridge pulls off the win. Likely close. Landon vs Dematha: Game of the day and likely telling for both programs. Is it live streamed? PVI vs Good Counsel: Will there be a letdown after Sunday’s emotional win? Doubtful but rest for bigger games might keep this within 10. The other WCAC games look to me to be games where teams will go deep into their bench and still run up the score. (Maybe not Heights but definitely SJC and Gonzaga). |
Won’t Bullis be in Florida? |
Agree that Bullis has a weaker schedule than normal this year but they do have some bigger games come April, SJC and Cardinal Gibbons from North Carolina. Bullis can't help that Spalding is really down this season, keep in mind, these schedules are made 10 months ago. Still think Bullis will be the favorite over Gonzaga in a few weeks because their offense can score "at will" |
one is committed to Richmond the other is committed to JMU for football. |
