I'm looking for something similar to Crossfit (community feel, heavy weight lifting, some cardio) but without the injuries or expense. I'm not going to join Crossfit because of those two concerns.
Running groups don't do the trick because they focus only on running, and I want something with a significant weight/strength training element. Does anyone know of anything like this in Alexandria or Arlington? Even a Meetup group would work. |
OP again - forgot to add that the most important thing is the community aspect as I am a people-person. |
| Meetup has bootcamp groups. Georgetown bootcamp meetup is every Sunday at 7:00am by the waterfront. $3.00. |
| I was thinking a bootcamp group as well. I don't have one to recommend but I've seen them at the track where I workout. I've also seen groupons/vouchers for the classes. There is a group in the Landmark area but I have no idea what they're called. |
| The Sergeant's Program is great for community. It is a bootcamp that meets M-F at various locations around the area. |
