No troll. Everyone in that income range on here understands.

It's not a lot of money. Especially in DC/NoVa.

It is a lot of money. Even in this area.

For gawd's sake, I'm raising three kids as a SAHM on $120K and I feel middle class.

Get over yourself.

We when made that much, we didn't feel like that. You are crazy.

That would give me an additional net $120k a least. I could literally do every single thing I wanted with that much money.

There is an identical thread discussing the identical HHI that's been going on for weeks. "Disappointed with lifestyle" or some such.

350k is only 180k after taxes (federal, state)

180k/12 = 15k/month. Student loans of 4k/month, rent, retirement , tithe, schooling .

Not a lot left. It's definitely middle class lifestyle.

So is $250k poor? This thread is ridiculous!

A lot of middle class people don't save a lot for retirement, etc . A lot of them still manage to tithe though, weirdly.

For us, it's two kids on $106 and while I don't feel particularly rich, I do not feel poor.

I support a family of five on $160k. I guess we are just one step above welfare, huh? Some of you DC people are seriously out of touch.
