| The two shows I've been watching, Mad Men and Call the Midwife, have recently ended. Any recommendations for something new to watch? I don't like anything too dark or violent, and it seems like so many of the really good/highly recommended shows out there are just too dark for me. Is there anything out there as as good as Mad Men? I don't think I can handle Breaking Bad or The Wire. |
| If you like call the midwife, try "Land girls"--I found it on netflix streaming. Another period piece from BBC. very easy to watch and moves super fast. I think it ran for three seasons |
| Masters of Sex. Season 2 coming in July. |
I was so into the show Six Feet Under that I was heartbroken for months when it was over and have thought over the years that there's no tv show as good as that one. I'm starting to think I'll feel the same about Mad Men now too
So...I would suggest seeing if you can find Six Feet Under. |
| Big Love if you missed it the first time. |
| The Americans |

Just no -- to this and to 24 -- if OP doesn't like dark shows. They are both pretty good shows, however. I don't mind dark shows.

| Six feet under is an amazing and not depressing series. |

I was going to recommend Orphan Black but it might be too dark. But it's SO GOOD.
Did you ever watch Gilmore Girls? It's not dark at all, and it's super enjoyable. |
I watched that. It was interesting. Second, Big Love What about Nurse Jackie? I haven't seen it, only heard great things about it. Amazon Prime has just added several older HBO shows. Might be worth checking out. |

Oh, what about Downton Abby? |
| Second season of Masters of Sex starts in July. Costumes and sets and show are amazing. |
| House of Cards. |
