| Jen interviews Joanna Gaines. It must be agonizing for her as Joanna is everything Jen wants to be but can’t. Way more successful, way more beloved, genuinely talented, and with a beautiful and intact family. The Hatmakers made a hard effort at being another Chip and Joanna on HGTV but flopped hard. Her narcissistic rage must be pinging. |
| Hey gramma let’s knock off the “intact family” crap will you!? |
The contrast here is real. Jen looks/sounds like even more of the hot mess she is in comparison to JG. |
| I’ve been looking at the overall (lack of) comments on her posts. Seems Jen us doing the respond as many as I can to make the overall number bigger routine. 38 comments which is nothing to brag about in itself, but 9 or 10 of those are Jen’s responses. Meaning only about 28 people actually posted. That seems to be happening a lot lately. |
It's just non-stop self-promotion. People tune it out. When Jen posts thoughtful, pertinent, or humorous content people respond. When it's nothing but buy this book! look at me at this event! buy this dress! people's eyes glaze over. |
| But when she does a “real” post people do show up. It’s irritating to see my smart friends on IG hearting her stupid real-talk-insights. |
| Watched her segment on the Sherri show (it’s less than 10 minutes total)…the food looked great, but when they mentioned her 5 kids, the screen showed a picture of Jen with only 4 kids. One must not want to be a part of her publicity. Glad she’s honoring that, if so. Tyler was overly mentioned yet again. If they don’t stay together, she might regret that his name and face will be attached to so much of her work during this season. He is not attaching her name and face to nearly as many of his posts and appearances and products… |
Which kid is missing? |
| I don’t know their names, but one of the sons is missing from the photo. It is on Sherri’s YouTube page. Search for Jen Hatmaker Sherri Show and it was uploaded a few days ago…quick and easy recipes. |
| Disappointing too, on the Sherri Show, that she lumped the “Christian community” all together when she discussed having her books pulled from shelves and her speaking engagements canceled after coming out in support of LGBTQ marriages. She didn’t just come out in support of homosexual civil unions/legalized marriage for same benefits (as plenty of Christians have), but rather called said lifestyle choices “holy”…and was eager to officiate weddings in church settings and/or in the Lord’s name. It was a total reversal of her previously expressed beliefs and teachings. She also wouldn’t answer her own readers, who made her career and wealth possible, when they genuinely (and often gently) requested scripture clarification to try and better understand how she arrived to her new enthusiasm for LGBTQ relationships. She gave no explanation other than “she researched it” and just seemed to expect everyone else to immediately follow her down her new path, no questions asked. That verbiage—“holy”—struck a greater nerve in the Christian community for sure. And it seems as if one of her new public platforms is actively campaigning against the Church and against the many people—imperfect humans—who still worship, love, and represent Jesus well in that exact space that she now condemns. Any word yet from anyone who’s read the cookbook about whether or not she (hopefully!) sticks to topics of food and gatherings throughout—?—or does she somehow use the recipe writings to subtly bash or mislead others with religious/political commentaries? And did she really put Tyler’s name in print in the book dedication?!? (*eyeroll*) Or was that just somebody making a joke? |
| I didn't see the Sherrie show but she talked about politics during a cookbook segment? Dang Jen just stay in your lane. |
|
She’s so ridiculous. Does Jen even go to church anymore?
|
I was a fan of hers for a long time and genuinely wanted to know how/what she researched. Now THAT would be a book worth reading, imo...the actual research for what God actually says in teh Bible about holy non-hetero relationships and how she changed her mind. Honestly, it is the only book she needs to write...I don't think she ever will, but I would buy that one. |
|
she mentioned going to church a couple weeks back. sounded like a random visit not like she was a regular. guess she needed something to talk about.
all her posts are cookbook, cookbook, cookbook, shill, shill, shill. look at this semi-famous person here that i am going to talk about my cookbook with. |
Caleb is not in the photo she shared. |
