I have a friend with this name. He grew up in Mclean and became a lawyer.

I think it's lovely. Very Jewish to me, but I'm Jewish so I know a lot of Aris. I don't mind the alternative spelling. Arye is also nice.

Jewish and means Lion. I know an Arye and an Ari. Both Jewish

OP here - No other kids. Not Jewish.

Would it be odd for non-Jewish family to have an Ari? Perhaps spell it Arie?

Interesting. I know Jewish families who have given their kids trendy Irish names. I think this would be cool.

Apparently it's a very common Scandinavian name as well. More common in Finland than US.
