Why does this salad have 50g of fat?

Anonymous
I love the New England Harvest salad from boloco. I knew it must not be all that great in terms of calories but I am shocked by how much fat it has - 50g!

Here is the menu description: baby kale, warm quinoa, squash with cranberries, beets, roasted mushrooms, goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette

Now I know the balsamic vinaigrette and the goat cheese add fat - but there isn't THAT much goat cheese or dressing on the salad. What am I missing here?

Trying to eat healthy and eat out is so depressing

Veggies are probably cooked in oil, cheese, lots of dressing.

The quinoa may also be drenched in something fatty.

Eating low fat is no longer associated with eating "healthy." Low fat means high carb and carbs are what we should be limiting.

Yes, like it's own dressing or olive oil; does it give a nutrition analysis for the dressing on the side? The whole serving of dressing can add a huge amount if fat.

Probably use olive oil or vegetable oil on the mushrooms to roast them.

Are you sure you are not looking at the Harvest Bowl, which would include the fried tortilla bowl?

Whatever hidden fats are in there I highly doubt they are the types of fats that reccomended. They are probably the cheap and harmful Omegs 6s.

Yes, fat is not the enemy, but some fats should still be limited. Most restaurants adding fat are not reaching for the coconut and avocado oils.

maybe, but 50 grams of fat is excessive! you can make your own salad of those ingredients quite healthily. They must really be mucking it up.

Just looked at their nutrition calculator. Nearly everything is more healthy than the harvest salad or the kale cobb. These items "sound" healthy , but there is much more fat, including saturated fat.

OK, according to my nutritionist you need a balance of Omega fatty acids...so 3, 6 and 9...
