Do you give your parents and IL an itinerary (dates, all flight info, all hotel info, etc.) when you travel? I am referring to family travel not if they are watching kids while you are traveling. Do you just give dates and location? |
No. |
Usually give flight info. |
Dates and location, although they usually know hotel since it comes up in converation |
PP here. Doesn't really matter if parents or best friends, just think it's a good idea for someone to have the info. |
I would give flight info and hotel info so they could contact me in case of emergencies, or they would know if the plane went down, I was on it.
I give it to my parents, not the IL. When the IL travel, they let us know the general itinerary bc they are elderly and we know generally where they are. They always offered, we never asked. |
Yes, and my sister. |
MY MIL is a very anxious person - especially about flying - so to ease her fears we give her the flight info, phone number just in case. My DH also calls her when we land so she knows we're okay - a 1 minute conversation. In over 20 years she has never called us while we're gone (with the exception of one emergency) so it's no big deal. If it makes her more comfortable then it doesn't bother me. I know some people who think this is crazy, but she is the sweetest and most helpful, loyal person I've ever met so I feel this is a small thing to help her ease her mind.
My own mother, on the other hand, doesn't get the info. She doesn't feel the need for it. She does have my cell number and I always have it on. Funnily enough - she has called me while on vacation, usually because she forgot we were away. |
My boyfriend constantly travels for work and emails me and his mom his itineraries. I think it's a little odd. He's not a mamas boys in the least. I think it may be a "what if you go missing or get in a crash" fear. |

No. I do tell my mother if we are going away but no travel details. Seems unnecessary with cell phones. |
We always do with my parents and vice versa. Travel itinerary and hotels. We also always text each other when we arrive. |
Yes, with my parents. My husband does not have that kind of relationship with his parents. We also have given it to a close friend of my husband's when he was flying into that area. Usually friend would offer to pick up/drop off and offer a place to stay. We tell two neighbors who look after the house and leave the flight information on the table just in case. |
Before I was married I gave my parents flight/hotel info. Now they don't ask because they know my husband will know how to find me if needed. Also, they can always reach me via cell or email anyway. |
Nope. |
