Where to complain about front office staff?

Anonymous
Where can I make a complaint about the front office staff at our elementary school? They let some paperwork slip through the cracks at the beginning of the year, and are in general really unpleasant. I'm tempted to make a complaint. Does Superintendent Starr care about parents' opinions about things like this or not? Thanks.

There are lots of rude and obnoxious front office staff in the county. No one seems to care.

Many disgruntled front office employees. It can't hurt to let the principal know about your situation so that he/she can take a deeper look into the general paperwork situation and make a note of the staff treatment towards parents.

One the the office workers at my kids' school seems very rude when you first meet her. My kids have been at same school for 6 years and I have been kind. She is now kind to me. There are a lot of crappy parents. Try to be understanding OP.

We had an unbelievably rude and crabby front office woman. Finally, after doing years of damage (she is, after all, the first impression of the school) she got canned on the last day of school.

I am an elementary school principal (not in MoCo) and would want to know right away if someone in the office was rude and/or not doing their job properly. Mistakes happen, and if there is something that can be done to ensure it doesn't happen again, I want to know. There's never an excuse for rudeness.

Yes. If you think it's worth complaining about, then complain to the principal. The principal is the boss of the front office staff.

Being understanding has nothing to do with it. The staff are supposed to be professional -- that way I don't have to be understanding.

Principals like efficiency and productivity. If the person in question is like that, and your paperwork snafu was a one-off, then the rudeness will be ignored by the top.

The lady in charge of the front office at our Bethesda ES is abrupt and blunt, aka rude. Then she is all milk and honey to some students and parents. The difference is incredibly unsettling when you witness it.

Recently she has been actually giving me the time of day! This is our 3rd year at the school.
I actually think she is wonderfully efficient, despite having had a paperwork snafu with her during our second year. I have no idea why she "has her faces".

Teacher here. We often consider the front office staff to be the last line of defense between teachers / administrators and crazy parents. Sometimes we like 'em crabby and unwelcoming. Jus' sayin'.

Starr

lmfao!

Why not complain to Obama the next time a police officer is rude to you?

Seriously, you think the superintendent of a public school system is that lofty and unreachable?

I complained to the principal. I would do that.

As an educator, there's no access to Starr.

I love how the public thinks all sorts of things, but we insiders know the truth!

In MCPS, Starr = Obama.

Get it straight, folks.
