| Can anyone recommend local bookstores where I can sell some books we no longer want? Thanks. |
| Are you trying to make money or do you just want to get rid of them? If the latter, please consider donating them. |
| McKays. They'll give cash for some books and store credit for others. |
| I do it online, sellyourbackyourbook.com, they and amazon do books and dvd's and provide the shipping labels for free- easy peasy... |
| Second Story books warehouse in Rockville. |
Book row in Kensington will buy your used books. |
| How much does one get selling back a used book? Is it a percentage of the list price? |
|
omg
Just give the damn things away. |
Most places sell them for half of the publisher's price on the cover, and give you about half of that as store credit. Some places also have different categories for books and you can only use your credit for the lesser category. |
| NP: We have a ton of books that my husband just wants to throw away. I think this is so so wasteful and would like to donate. Any ideas where we can donate and if there are any services that offer pick-up? (I promise we are not lazy jerks, DH works full time and is doing all pick up and drop off of our son from preschool while I am pregnant and on bed rest-- we just really don't have time to bring books someplace far away.). Thanks!! |
| 19:36 again - I just googled and found booksforamerica.org. Looks like a good place to donate and they offer pick up if you have more than 50 books. |
| Powells books. You can enter your isbn and they'll email you and tell you is they'll take it and how much they'll offer. They'll pay shipping too. |
|
Thanks, everyone.
Where is McKays around here? I'm only aware of the ones in TN. We may donate but would like to make a little money. |
