how many strollers do you have?

And at what age do you expect your kid going to stop using it? Just curious what the norm is.

I have 2.

Full size - uppababy vista. Used until about 1-1.5. Bought the adaptor so it could be used with the car seat. Also used the bassinet a lot for the tiny baby stage.

Maclaren umbrella. Used regularly until about 2.5. Still use it occasionally when a lot of walking is involved (like all day event at the zoo).

I have 5, but only because i've held on to ones that we/our situation has outgrown in case they are useful with #2. I started with a bassinet pram and snap and go and moved on to a city mini when my son got a little older. I loved the city mini but it became less convenient when we started taking public transportation more often and I needed to fold it up and carry it on to buses or whatever. So I got a Maclaren umbrella stroller. I also have a big jogging stroller which I used for a while when I didn't have child care and which I will be using again with #2.

My son sometimes walks now and I don't even bring the stroller out with me, but it's a lifesaver when we need it. I think we will use it until 3-4.

But we are urban people, we walk a ton and we don't use a car on a regular basis. After I see what life is like with two, i'll be pairing down and getting a double. I imagine I'll get rid of the snap and go, the bassinet pram and the city mini and get a double stroller instead. If I decide to get a double jogging stroller I'll get rid of my jogging stroller too.

I currently have 2 in my attic - a Baby Jogger and an Inglesina umbrella stroller. The umbrella stroller has to have a tire repair and we need to purchase a bar for the infant seat on the jogging stroller (I know, don't jog until the are older - it is the one we will use in our neighborhood for walks).

I might try to borrow a snap and go to toss in my car for mall walking so I don't have to lug the Baby Jogger around. I HATE that.

Our first is 8, but I do NOT plan to buy anymore strollers if I don't have to.

Lol, one! We have a 2.5 yr old and a 12 month old. I can't imagine having more than one unless I were an avid jogger who jogged with a stroller multiple times a week.

Same person here as above - I expect the older daughter to be finished completely using the stroller by the time she's three. We're on target to meet that goal - we've convinced her it's really for her younger sister now. She only goes in it for walks a mile or longer or if she's super tired.

4. Snap and go base for infant car seat, Vista (has the attachment too, but for quick in and out of the car in the suburbs the snap and go was easier. If I lived in city I might have skipped snap and go), umbrella, double stroller (kids close in age). My 4 year old still likes to sit in the double on longer outings or long walks in the neighborhood. She never sits in the single strollers.

Just one, the travel system for our car seat. We have yet to use it. With a dog, it's so much easier to stick baby in the ergo.

We walk long distances, 3-5 miles. The 6yo can (finally) handle doing it at a reasonable pace, but the 3.5 yo walks the pace of a SNAIL ON CRUTCHES. Look at that shiny thing! Let's study the ants! Pick me up! Put me down! And so on.

The last time we walked 1.5+ miles to dinner with her (no stroller) it took us 45 minutes, no joke. We took a cab back.

So all this is to say, if you're a foot-commuter family, don't get rid of that stroller until you know your kids can handle the walks! And even then, keep it for a bit longer for those "just in case" mega-walks.
