It seems like that is very likely to go your way. No new projects and her companies are in the crapper.

For the hundredth time, Justin was no longer a defendant in this case. He didn’t even have to show up for trial.

Blake stans are so delusional and for what? You’ll never see her in a movie again and her hair company is winding down. Moving to London and confirming there will be no Deadpool four is the best decision the couple could’ve made.

I just hope the divorce chatter goes away. As much as I don’t like Blake and Ryan, I do not want to see their marriage destroyed over this.

Exactly. Justin wasn't a defendant. Wayfarer could care less about a statement appeasing Blake. It doesn't hurt them in any way. Why is this so hard for people to grasp?

This is disingenuous. Justin founded Wayfarer. If Wayfarer was found liable, it would be due to Justin's behavior. The idea that he was somehow no longer involved is not believable. And his lawyers had already said he planned to testify at the trial (because everyone understood that it was his company/rep/behavior on trial, even if Wayfarer was the technical defendant).

Also people not paying close attention could care less about Wayfarer. They want to know who won, Justin or Blake? And that's how any trial updates or outcomes would have been reported, especially in the tabloids.

But the average person is reading "Wayfarer" and not "Justin Baldoni." Not everyone has the legal minds of DCUM.

Every headline I've seen has said "Justin Baldoni" not Wayfarer. Mainstream media, industry coverage, tabloids... I haven't seen a single headline saying Blake settled with Wayfarer.

There’s your comprehension problem again. Multiple headlines say “Baldoni’s company Wayfarer”.

It’s just so funny that the Blake bot(s) keep lying and distorting to the bitter end:

Well I for one am disappointed because I wanted the trial. I wanted the witnesses and the drama and I genuinely wanted to know what a jury thought of this whole thing. A settlement where we'll never actually know for sure what the terms were is very unsatisfying for me as an onlooker.

Reuters, Variety, and Daily Mail all just say Justin Baldoni. I think I saw People say "Justin Baldoni's Wayfarer" which actually proves the degree to which most people view them as a single entity.

But leave it to a Baldoni supporter to ignore facts in favor of accusing people of lying. That's one of their favorite things, and I guess they have limited opportunities left to do so. Carry on, my wayward child.

I know! I still think they would have been found liable for retaliation, but with a minimal amount of damages.

I don't get this because it's very easy to avoid hearing about Blake. I only followed this case because I found it interesting, but previously had not thought about Blake since her Gossip Girl days. My husband, who has no interest in the case, continues to not spend any time thinking about Blake (or Ryan). Neither of us has ever seen any of her movies, including this one.

When people say "ugh I wish this celebrity would just go away" what they are actually saying is "I'm perversely obsessed with this person and seek out news about them every chance I get, and then complain about what an attention whore they are." Literally no celeb gossip or info is required reading. You could have been living a Blake-free existence this whole time. You chose not to.

I am betting that the ones who never want to hear about Lively again follow multiple content creators who talk about her constantly and will be coming in here to update us on how she has no career, marriage falling apart, etc.

This was also my guess. I think the really drama was going to be in the testimony, especially of Blake and Justin, Jenny Slate, some of the Sony people (so many emails and texts to explain). Also was very curious what might have come in regarding Jed Wallace, a person I remain deeply curious about. I know he planned not to testify (and just let his deposition stand, which is extremely telling, because his deposition was very, very bad -- Wallace had a lot to lose in this case and I sense no one is more relieved today than he is).

I feel like we are really missing out, frankly. It kills me we'll never know what they agreed to!

I for one never read anything about her, and only found out about the trial from this forum. I just want her to go away so people can devote their valuable DCUM time to other topics.

She quite literally was shown to be a liar and had her career ruined. And it was only getting worse at trial here there would be abundant evidence that people find her unlikable whenever she opens her mouth in an unscripted setting.

And yet Wayfarer made a huge concession in the public statement. Why is that, do you think?

People aren’t being reasonable. While Wayfarer had a good chance of being fully vindicated at trial, a trial is always a risk. In this case, wayfarer is the one being sued and the only one at risk of losing even more money. The statement, which was from the lawyers by the way, strongly suggests that the deal was no money but a face saving statement for Blake. I know we all wanted to see wayfarer vindicated but we weren’t the ones at risk of losing millions more, no matter how small the risk might have seemed.

She brought a mostly fabricated story to the New York Times. That tends to generate quite a bit of publicity.

Further, both sides were in for another million or two just to get through trial.

In what way? It simply doesn't mention money at all, which is not uncommon for settlement statements. It was almost certainly a requirement for negotiation (that there be absolutely no hint at how much money changed hands).
