Please recommend small shrubs that will keep their color most of the year

Anonymous
Just pulled out a 20 yr juniper that was way too overgrown. Now I have an empty bed along my driveway. I'm looking for something not too tall that will keep its color most of the year. Any suggestions.

That would depend on the look you are trying to achieve but I have used Nandina, Boxwoods, and birds nest spruces in similar applications. FWIW - I am not a professional. Just a hobby gardener with a very large yard.
