I just bought a new interview outfit that's got navy pants and navy/green/white blouse, and I need to buy some shoes and a bag to wear with it. But when I look at handbags there's nothing navy. It is, apparently, not an "in" color, as far as I can tell. So what color bag does one buy to carry with navy pants, and what color shoes go with it?

| I would wear yellow shoes and a purse. Or if you are looking for a more subdued look then, metallic or black shoes or purse. |
Can I really get away with black? I'd love to buy a nice handbag, and my budget is not that big so if I could use the same handbag and shoes for this and for other outfits that have black in them, that would make me very happy. |
| Yes, black is fine. Classy really, and then if you want to add a small pop of color wear a yellow or even a green ring or yellow or green bracelet or none at all. But yes I wear black shoes with my navy suits all of the time. Navy's are so hard to match anyways that I have never found navy shoes I like. |
Ps. Good luck!
|
Thanks! I need it. |
| Can you get a nice dark brown bag? Or a grey one? (And another good luck!) |
| Eek not black please. Navy is supposed to be work with brown tan or nude. I would actually go with nude or tan shoes (for this weather) and a tan or brown or even grey bag. Not black. Also I've seen navy bags everywhere. What's your price range? |
| Oh yeah and good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I would agree with nude. Not yellow for an interview. |
|
Yellow looks good with navy but that's too bright for a job interview unless you're in a creative field. Go with nude shoes/neutral bag.
You could totally do a black bag, though. |
| For an interview you want conservative, so I would probably do navy pumps and a cognac bag. Last time I checked, Ann Taylor had some nice conservative navy heels--they can be hard to find. |
| Nude or tan. Make sure your bag isn't giant... |
| I would go with a classic black bag, not too big. Black shoes too - classic. |
| I wear brown shoes with navy. Or black. |
