| OP here. My budget is around 300 -400 and I need a bag and shoes or bags and shoes for 2 outfits. The other outfit is black and other colors. |
|
I wore these (link below) for my whole series of interview and panels for a C-level position (I got the job… and I got 3 compliments on the shoes from people that interviewed me. They are on sale, and I can tell you from experience they look WAY more expensive than they are and are very comfy.
For the purse, I would recommend a purse/tote that can also hold resumes, small umbrella, make up for touching up, and such. That way you don’t have to carry two items. I have the Lo and Sons T.T. tote and I like it a lot. I think it’s about $250. OP here, These look perfect. Now, I need a final vote on colors. Obviously the black tote/purse, but should I get nude shoes for the blue pants and black ones for the black pants, or black for both? |
For the price, I would get both and see how they look in real life. The nude one seemed to run a little big on me, the black was pretty true to size. |
I would get both. Think of it this way - when you get the job you will need both pairs to wear to work !!!
|
| Agree with buying both. The price is too good to not do it. The nude will go with lots of things. For the interview, I am tending towards black if this is for something fairly stodgy as most DC jobs are. |
OP, I'm in a field where I would never wear heels to work, just for interviews. Which is why I don't own any and don't even know what colors of heels people wear! I have "picky" feet so I'm off to the Easy Spirit store to try these on in person. |
| Nude shoes would work and you could use them with all kinds of outfits in the future. |
I should clarify, this is from the OP, not addressed to the OP. |
Hey OP, any luck at the store? My size was sold out online
|
So, I am worried about my ability to wear heels and not look like an oversized toddler struggling to balance. So, I didn't buy them. But then I got home and saw these: http://www.easyspirit.com/Darinka-Low-Heel-Wedge-Dress-Shoes/56337067,default,pd.html and I thought maybe they're dressy enough without being so high, plus the wedge is more manageable for someone not used to heels? Maybe? But here's my new dilemma. One of my blouses (the one that goes with the blue pants) has a gold zipper. In the back, 1/2 covered by hair, but still visible. Can I still wear these shoes and silver jewelry? I like silver better than gold. Also, would the zinc color look weird with blue or black and a black bag? OK, I clearly have no idea how to dress myself. This is kind of pathetic. |
Those look comfy and if you are a heel-walking novice, those appear to be a good compromise. Interview day is not the day to learn how to walk in heels LOL As for the zipper, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I wear silver jewelry all the time and my wedding set is yellow gold. I don't think you have to be totally matchy-matchy. Just look pulled together and professional. |
Thank you! Would you get black or zinc? I think the zinc looks cool, but I'm not a risk taker, so I need some reassurance. |
| It's spring. Black Patent... |
| OP, live the zinc but for interview, I would go with black |
