Are any of you giving up your current/continuing spot for this Fall, and if so, for what grade?
Hoping that the anonymity of this thread will give folks some room to be honest. In all my conversations with CM, they claim no one is leaving. I find that hard to beleive! |
Agreed, I'm roughly 5 waitlist spots away at this point, but the school is staying that they don't anticipate any further movement. I understand the need to be conservative, but it does make me somewhat nervous. Any chance the WL doesn't move 5+ spots from here to start of school? Somebody ease my fears, LOL. |
PP here, forgot to mention, I'm talking about the PS3 waitlist. |
I'm in the top 5 for Kindergarten and would love to know if I have a shot. |
I'm probably right behind you. Good luck to you. (And me) |
If you want to look at a similar situation - reach out to CCPCS familie. Quite a few families did not move from 15th and Irving to the new location due to travel logistics.
Some families really wanted to make it work - but in the end just could not swing it. Either they lived in MtP / Columbia Heights and did not have a car - or the bus routes were too much of a hassel. |
That's a good point -- the move to Old Soldiers Home, when it becomes official and people try it out, is surely going to dissuade a handful of parents from CM, right? |
Everyone I've spoken too is excited about the move. Even though the commute will be worse for us, the campus is amazing and the plans the school has in place have me really excited for next year. |
Even if the commute is harder, you need a "better" option to change schools. |
Very true -- but certainly proximity and ease of commute are big components when weighing whether one school is "better" for you than another. The change in location can only help the WL move faster, one would think. |
if the commute is harder - you need an option - not necessarily better. Some families left CCPCS for their neighborhood school. Families without a car could not get to the new location - and to their place of work on time. |
Creative Minds is a much smaller school in its second year. Many of the families are founding families and very dedicated having put lots of time and work to get the school off the ground. Location isn't something to deter them. |
OK I guess the WL won't move at all then. |
I didn't say that, but any big movement probably already happened. |
I've mentioned this before on previous threads and while I realize it doesn't have any bearing on the next academic year, we entered the wait list after the lottery last year for K & 1st and were contacted the week school started.
I wouldn't give up hope, people relocate and things change all the time. You might need to be really patient, however. |
