Green smoothie recipes that actually taste good?

So I've been experimenting. The kitchen sink approach has yielded some disgusting green smoothies. I found a recipe that used a lot of parsley, which I apparently cannot stand. I know I'm not going to love this at first, but I want to develop a taste for these things and what I'm trying to choke down right now is just not working (kale, parsley, cucumber, apple, grapes, two dates). What are your suggestions for starting me on the path to loving a green smoothie? TIA!

2 cups kale, 3/4 cup frozen mango, 1 cup coconut water and 1/2 lemon. This is my favorite.

pinterest and youtube have good recipe ideas but we have a pretty standard recipe. we have a vitamix that we use every morning and our 6, 4, and 2 yo love it. lots of spinach, orange w/pith/pear and/or apple, coconut milk/water, a couple mushrooms, sometimes peanut butter, frozen melon and berries...play around.

couple handfuls kale or spinach
some frozen pineapple chunks -- not too much or it will be too sweet and add a lot of fruit sugars
banana
plain greek yogurt
bit of water
ice

can also add green apple, one celery stalk, 1/4 cucumber, lemon.

The real trick if you're not into the greenness of the smoothies at first is to mask with fruit as others have suggested. Bananas help, berries of all kinds help. In my experience these pack the most punch in masking that flavor. So like kale, a banana, a cup of berries, then liquid (maybe coconut water) and ice if none of the components are frozen.

If you're adding protein powders, a chocolate flavored one also adds cover and you can up it a notch by adding a tablespoon of hershey's dark cocoa powder (has a lot of iron). So like chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, banana, kale, dark frozen cherries.

Nut butters will also mask the flavor if you're into that and is great with the cocoa powder.

Do you just want green?

I do it with Avocado. If it has to be kale, then you'll need something sweet with it like orange or apple juice/sauce or frozen berries. Spinach with all those above is good too.

I also like adding PB, which is powdered peanut butter. They also have one that is pb w/chocolate. Mix with spinach, banana and ice and it's super yummy.

I do this one:

Spinach (fill the blender)
2 cups of unsweetened coconut milk
frozen pineapple
frozen mango
honey

Kids love it!
