I'm hoping this will help me avoid more terrible toys...
My vote goes to that Melissa and Doug pizza. I find those freaking pepperonis everywhere and they drive me completely insane! |
| It's not so much which toy for me but more about the AMOUNT of toys. Maybe I'm guilty of having them all for DC but there are sooo many. I am sure we did not grow up with this many. |
| It's not so much which toy for me but more about the AMOUNT of toys. I went to IKEA to buy additional wall unit with baskets to keep them organized. Maybe I'm guilty of having all of these toys for DC but there are sooo many. I am sure we did not grow up with this many. |
| Funny, I love the M&D pizza compared to some of the other things we've got. It doesn't break, get stuck, beep, flash or require obscure battery sizes. DS's V-Tech letters/numbers thing, on the other hand, was engineered by Satan. If I have to hear that annoying, robotic "press a button" one more time... |
| Anything Elmo - that high pitched squeaky voice drives me nuts. |
| That stuffed dog that you press its paws - it does not shut up even when left alone. |
ditto "That tickles." hate that! I gave that one away one day when my daughter was in school. |
| We have a whole host of Hallmark animatronic animals, ranging from the shivering Halloween frogs to the dancing Xmas snowman. All courtesy of my MIL, who most recent visits have unfortunately coincided with our Goodwill runs. |
OMG. That's so true! Ours starts talking on its own from time to time, and it always scares the crap out of me! (By the way, we got it as a gift from friends. Maybe they secretly hate us.) I also hate all the v-Tech toys. They're so screechy and loud. Unfortunately, DD is a big fan. Ugh. |
| The guitar that plays Yo Gabba Gabba. |
| For some reason, my son thinks DVD covers are toys, and he uses them to create all sorts of things (like garages for his cars, or parades, or displays) exactly where I want to walk. They drive me nuts. |
| vtech and some leapfrog - the stuff with beeps, annoying voices and music and pretend learning value |
| We have this Elmo piano book thing that someone gave us. DS loves it -- DH and I hate it! Not only does it take random tiny batteries and play many songs nobody's ever heard of, it's god-awful loud. I swear some nights I hear Elmo in my dreams saying "Elmo will play . . . Now you play, follow the lights!" in that screechy voice of his. |
| My son loves the busy ball popper. It is a lot of fun but the noise, noise, noise! |
Someone gave that to my son last Christmas and I pried it open to remove the batteries within two days. |
