My BFF is turning 41. She said she didn't want a party, but we are having a small gathering that I planned. I need to buy alcohol today and thought about the white wine with peaches and honeydew that we had at her bridal shower a decade ago. My partner says this is a bad idea and he never chimes in about anything. Who's right?
|
| It sounds delicious! Go for it! |
| I think it sounds fun. Why does your partner object? |
| Why would that be a bad idea? |
|
It will be lovely, and a thoughtful remembrance of the shower she had. Buy the best quality wine you can afford. I suppose you can't really tell the quality of frozen fruit, unless you've had that particular brand before. Why does your boyfriend object? |
| Quite odd reaction from your partner. It sounds yummy. |
Is she still married? |
| Yes, still married. My SO thinks it is gross because those fruits aren't in season. |
| Well since they are frozen it doesn't matter, they were picked while in season and frozen. |
| Sounds fine as long as you thaw them out. Are strawberries in season (see, I never know because we get stuff year-round these days). If they are, add some fresh strawberries since those go well too and call it dessert. |
Sounds good! I'd just make sure you had plain wine and/or other options for your guests, which I'm sure you would do anyway.
|
| ^^ I was just about to say the same thing. Have the remembrance wine but be sure to have some good quality white wines available, too. And something for the non-drinkers. |
| Yeah maybe chose in season instead? Don't see why melons are a better choice than berries |
| What guy gives a crap about fruit in season. Your dh needs to shut it. |
| I'd just make sure you find a recipe to get the taste right. There are tons of white sangria recipes. |
