Has anyone done a bday pool party at Tom Dolan?

Anonymous
Considering it for my DD's 7th bday.

Looking for feedback on:

1) Time? Was the Friday 5-7 p.m. time slot ok? Was it convenient for parents to get to? Or did maybe people not come b/c it was an inconvenient time (?). Most of my DD's parents have one SAH parent (we are two WOH parents and we are in the minority) so I think that this time would be ok (?).

2) How the party was run?

3) Cost? $395 seems a bit steep -- do you feel you got your money's worth? (?)

4) I see it's 1 hour in the pool and 1 hour in the party room. That seems like a lot of time for pizza and cake. Was there excess time at the end you felt you needed to "fill"? Or, did the kids take a long time to change and that "ate into" the 2nd hour anyway so there was not extra time after all.

5) Anything else?

Thank you in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe no one has had a party there yet? (?)

I don't know but that does sound pricy. I think a party at Cub Run Rec Center or Lifetime Fitness would be cheaper and more fun. (Lifetime has the climbing wall, bounce house, and the workers do playground type games as well as swimming.)

Good idea about Cub Run. Any feedback on that place? I am going to check out their website.

We had our DC's birthday party at Cub Run a few weeks ago. While the price is not as steep as at Tom Dolan's, I do have many complaints.

1. We booked our party to start at 4:30, with the idea that the kids will be in the pool until 5:30 and then proceed to the party room for pizza and cake.

2. Come 5:30 and we learn that the room has not been set up at all and that actually there's another party still going on there. They ask us to wait until 6 while they clean up.

3. Come 6 o'clock, all the kids are hungry. We proceed to the party room only to see that it is not setup. At all. Together with another mom, we ended up running around like crazy setting up the room, putting balloons everywhere. We were not supposed to do that per our contract which stipulated that the staff was to set up the room by themselves. Btw, I couldn't find any of the staff members to help us set up the room, they only showed up when it was time to clean up.

Having said that, next time I will probably splurge on the cleaning crew of some sort or go to one of those all inclusive places. But you get what you paid for, I guess.
